What could be the value of this 20k email list
I created a new forum related to people working in xxx niche. The categories are: adult webmasters, adult modeling, adult movie production, adult photo production, retail and distribution of adult products, escorts / massage services / outcall dancers, strip clubs, and supporting services. The most important section of the forum (also with the most categories, is the adult webmasters section, and it is placed on the top of the site).
The website is based on the newest version of vBulletin, and I am ordering a professional graphic redesign, along with the logo now.
There is an adult webmaster forum, which is definitely the number one in the niche, and it has a 1,394 rank in the Adult category at Similar Web, and it is receiving around 32,500 visitors a day. This is what I would be trying to compete with here...
There used to be an xxx webmaster forum, which was a strong number two, and the website was taken down, for some reason, a little over a year ago.
I contacted the owner, who is still the owner of the domain name, and asked him, whether he would be able to provide me with the email list, of all the users, who signed up to his site. I was told, that the total number of addresses is around 40k, and to make it into 20k, because there was a lot of bots signing up, and also because quite a lot of these addresses can be "junk". I, myself, signed up to this forum, with something around four different addresses, and I no longer use any of them at this point. So the actual number of good email addresses may be even lower, it is hard to say.
I don't have any experience in email marketing, and I also don't have time to work on this now. I could read several books, research the topic on the Internet, but I need to be working on something else.
As far as I know, it could be possible to use the old forum domain name in the email address, from which the marketing messages would be coming from, and that should greatly improve the response rate. It may be even possible to place something like "Recommended by OldForumDomain.com" on the new site (my forum).
1) Please let me know how much an email list like this can be worth?
2) Would you have any advice related to how to maximize the potential of this list?
3) What would be the best software, for sending emails, that I could use, if I would decide to do it by myself?
4) How many messages should I send, and what kind of messages? How would I conduct this campaign?
