Are solo ads still worth it ?

Hi guys,

I'm looking to drive traffic to my squeeze page and i'm wondering if buying a solo ad can be good to start building my list on weight loss niche .

Need your advices warriors !

Some related questions ( for those who already have a list built from solo ads) :

- what is the opt-in % to expect with a good squeeze page ?

- what open rate to expect ?

- All solo ads providers pretend that they include their buyer's list;is that true ?

Can I expect to make a sale (OTO) with a solo ad ?

Thx

The source of the solo ad subscribers is of paramount importance. Ideally, you want fresh buyers. You'll NEVER find these on the market. Optin rates can range all over the place - a good number would be 50%. Open rate depends entirely if you are doing single or double optins. A good rate for opens after receciving the lead magnet can be in the 20-33% area. It's nearly impossible to gurantee that your ad purchases have buyers. Certainly some have purchased an IM product in the past.

I've purchased some solo ads in the past but it hadn't worked good. Maybe I was unlucky with the providers? I dont know.

But there's no better way to build a list than build it yourself. This way you know what you're doing and you are 100% sure for your quality of your list.

I prefer to spend some money using ads to build my list (if I choose to use ads) rather than spending them trying out providers, in my humble opinion.

But you may hit a goldmine you never know!

Yes solo ads are very much worth it. However, you must be really careful these days who you buy from to ensure you are getting quality traffic. A site related to Safe-Swaps just recently was created called Udimi and they filter out things like fake clicks, bots, anything that is not considered "email" traffic. But that doesn't promise you quality traffic as some of these solo ad vendors sell solo ads for a living, so you still gotta do your research prior to investing. Look for good ratings and if they have produced any sales is a good rule of thumb. Another important thing to note down is that you must have an offer that converts, if not you can easily spend a lot of money getting no where. Buyers lists are your best bet, but they are more expensive, most reputable sellers sell a mix of buyers/prospects. You can still profit off of "freebie" seekers if you have a good follow up sequence. Also an important thing to ask is where most of their subscribers come from, a good rule of thumb is 70% English countries as that is where most buyers come from. Also ask to see swipe, some "Vendors" do a blind swipe and the people clicking might not even know where they are going, so it's important for vendor to have a swipe relevant to your offer. There are lots of variables, but to answer your question short and sweet, yeah solo ads are worth it still.

If you have a clearly defined use of he traffic, have a quality supplier, then yes. It's certainly not easy to make money off solo ad runs these days.

Solo ads are worth it in my opinion but you need to have an excellent funnel. From experience there are more opt ins that are throwaway accounts (based on the high opt in rates but low open rates). So ideally you want to get back your solo ads investment as quickly as possible using a funnel that perhaps has a $1 offer and multiple upsells.

If you do this, not only do you have a higher chance of recouping your investment but you also quickly qualify your subscribers by putting them on a buyer's list should they take up your offer.

I have an other question : when you purchase solo ads clicks from someone,he can be promoting the same (or similar ) products as you.could that influence negatively your results?

You actually WANT him to promote similar offers to yours and make sales with it.
It shows his list has buyers that are willing to buy this kinda offer that you have.

If you have a funnel and know what you're doing... Solo ads rock.

If you don't know what you're doing... I can almost guarantee you'll lose money. (Not saying this to be rude, a tough guy, or anything like that).

There's too many variables, including scams, and if you listen to "Free Advice" you're almost certain to find yourself in the hole.

solo ads in weight loss niche are totally different from solo ads in IM niche.
IM solos recieve hundreds of mails every day because there are so many solo sellers and people that doing swaps these days. If you find weight loss solo ads i say its worth the try.
in IM you really need to find somebody that has a list that responds well to the kind of offer that you are promoting.
You also need him to agree to use your own swipe, so you can traget it to your offer.
You'll need somebody that makes sales with his list.
And of course you'll need a good relevant funnel.

What ever you decide to do, my suggestion is to split the amount you are going to spend into no more that 3 months as, subscribers that are older are not that valuable.
