Hi,

I've started my list through mailchimp, got everything set up, got my first 170 subscribers yay, so now what do I send them?

I'm a graphic designer selling stickers, stationery, t-shirts and so on.

So far I have been sending them coupons once a week for a discount on certain products.

Got one sale from my list so far.

So do I just keep sending them coupons or what? lol I want them to be happy.

You can attach how to videos to your emails teaching them valuable things. It all depends on what niche you are in.

For example, if you are in the IM niche you can teach your list how to build a blog, hundreds of different traffic strategies, how to do email marketing, video marketing, solo ads, etc...

Try to make your emails as if you were sitting in from of the person talking to them. Make them relate to you to build more trust and you will see your sales increase.

Also, if you send 5 emails a week be sure to give value in 4 of them and send the coupon in 1 only.

    Hope this helps

Content of value to them (according to the traffic demographics and their expectations, and what they were looking for when they subscribed), which they can't find elsewhere. So that you earn their trust. The extent to which you can monetize the list will depend largely on how much they trust you, because that's the primary determinant of the strength of your recommendations to them.

Each subscriber needs to hear from you on the day they subscribe, again on the day after that, and then at regular intervals (in accordance with their expectations, which you need to set appropriately at the outset), otherwise your open-rates may be rather disappointing.

Email marketing is a process - an automated process, so it's fairly easy to do, but a process: it's all about continuity.

    yays for you ^_^

Put yourself in your customers shoes. What would you like to know about if you were on their end? What would you find interesting? How would you like to be talked to?

Send them interesting, conversational and informative posts instead of discount coupons. Build their trust. You can give them tutorials, interesting facts, fashion trends, or anything thing else creative that relates to your business. Try to talk to them as if you're making friends not customers.
Your email marketing should be indirect, and sending implicit messages instead of explicit ones.
