yes, opt-in pages are still used and in my option a must have to be successful online. If your not building a list then you need to. In reference to email addresses i donot use my personal email address because i do not want it bombarded with spam. I use my gmail accounts

Yes, I think it's still a good idea. The money is in the list and that's how you can build a relationship with your prospect.

Just to make sure that they gave you a real email address, you can tell them that your gifts will be sent to their email

I ask them for: Real First Name & email
You can ask them for First Name & Real Email

So you have to ask specifically what you want (and just by doing that get better results) if you see lots of fake emails in your autoresponder. I saw lots of weird names like keywords and it bugs me - so I'm starting to ask for real first name.

    So don't just say:
    Name:
    Email:

Of course is email marketing and squeeze pages still working why shouldn't they?
There will alway be freebie seeker with fake email addresses but you won't have such a people on your list anyway. But there are enough people out there who really want to learn how to build a business or how to make money on the internet. Those people use their real email and that's the people you want on your list.

Don't let anybody tell you something different.

Yes, of course email optin is good idea. The more they trust your website, the more likely they'll give their best email.

Another idea is to use a facebook login. But whether you're getting freebie seekers or real potential buyers still depends on your niche and quality of your offers, just like in regular email optins.

I just send the content I promised, the leadmagnet, in the email and not in the thank you page in my squeeze pages.

I was actually going to ask this same question. I just stated building a list and noticed a subscriber used an odd email address. When I looked up the domain it came from it linked to a site that gives out temp emails and get deleted after 15 minutes. Have any of you noticed this at all?

Only for those of us who like money.

Is it a good idea to spend some time on building a mailing list ?

      Yes, occasionally.

I don't mind it at all.

I don't want people on my list who don't want to receive my emails.

I don't mind circulating my "free report" to people who don't want the email series that follows it. Some, occasionally, even change their minds after receiving the first email and downloading the free report, opt in again with their real email addresses and then send me a reply telling me that that's what they've done!

A good autoresponder service will stop sending outgoing mail to the "dead email addresses" for you, soon enough, anyway. (You may still have to remove them, manually, to avoid them counting toward your "subscriber total" for billing purposes, though.)

No ! Not on Optin Pages or Sq. Pages. The less distraction the better, imo.

After they sign up to your Optin then you can give them all your info. in that first intro. email !!

If you don't have an account you are monitoring then you are opening youself to 1) Spam complaints 2) Opportunities. Depending on your business, you can be losing some good opportunities. With my coaching program, I have had more then a few students approach me from a publicly disclosed address.
