Drip campaign formulas... do you have one?

A rule of thumb for copywriter Marie Veloso (Web Copy That Sells) is:

"Prospects must see or hear your message seven times before they consider buying"
I'm curious... Are you finding this to be true with your own list?

In her book, she then suggests that...
  1. In the first email, get your recipients to consume your freebie.
  2. Every email thereafter you highlight a different benefit of your offer (until you hit 7 emails)

Ryan Deiss suggests the following:
  • Email 1 - Blind email (tell a story, get people excited, get the click)
  • Email 2 - Directly promote your product (problem/solution/benefits)
  • Email 3 - Reset their attention with free content. P.s. for your promotion
  • Take a day or two off between emails 3 and 4.
  • Email 4-5 - If product is going good, send more content. If going bad, flash sale or partner offer.

Thoughts?

What are some of your own autoresponder drip formulas?

Yeah this has helped out a lot.

I've found bringing them back to a different type of sales letter can really help too.

One that focuses more on testimonials, one that has a video on top of it...

Or even one with a discount (that tends to get many more buyers)
