Do you add your personal photo into your AR series?

Hi Warriors,

Was wondering how many of you here add your personal photo into your autoresponder series.

If so, why do you do it? And if not, why not?

  • I think the reasons for doing it, are obvious.

To make the email more personal.
To show you're a real person.
To give your readers a visual on who they're communicating with.

    I don't bother, though

    Reason?

    I just couldn't be bothered.

My emails are more than enough for people to remember me.

They either like me, or hate me, but no one just tolerates me.

      Depends on the niche.

The majority of people who have gotten on my list have seen it already...

Or get sent to videos of me where they'll see it even more

        No, I never have.

I do have it on the Thank You page right after they Optin.

        But never after that.

I thought about a Video of myself.

But I am just not going to fool with it.

Maybe it could help some. Maybe not.

I get myself across enough to my List through my writing alone

I'm not aware of any evidence to support the inclusion of images. Does it improve open rate or click thrus? I doubt it.

If anything, added images encourages spam filters to act up.

I did it at one point. I don't do it anymore. I don't notice any real difference in the performance of my emails.

    But that's just my thought.

I don't have image anywhere, but as soon as they opt-in, they get short video series with me talking in it, and I have an introduction email as a second email (just couple days after opt-in).

So they know how I look very well

i guess it would depend on the type of niche you doing. If your in the internet marketing niche most would do it to give a more personal experience to their subscribers. Also sometimes its easier to remember a face than a name so if you see a email from a certain name you may not remember until you see the face at the bottom.

In a niche such as marketing coaching or fitness guru where you and your product/service are one, this would be a good idea. But, for another niche it might not work so well. I can see the logic of including a personal photo on your squeeze page (or wherever you have the opt in box) as that lets the person know they are dealing with a real person. And, sometimes people can identify with you better if they have seen your picture. However, including one in an email is not really necessary.

I use it to prove that I am a real person. I think it is the main reason why I use my photo. Actually, I want that my reader's should believe they are communicating with a real person.

The internet can be such an impersonal place and a photo helps the person reading your emails identify with you as a human being, rather than an internet marketer trying to get their money.

I used it in the signature of my auto-responders. Not for the broadcasts, but for the follow up series. I've never tested it without, but who wouldn't want to see my face?! haha
