New to Mail lists, Growing following daily, Advice please?

Good Morning Warriors,

I am completely new to email marketing but not clueless, I have went out a read a lot on the subject and the concept itself, I would like to ask for perhaps any strategy that anyone could offer in order to grow and develop a personalised relationship with my followers.

My Aim & Objectives
* Capture email from followers of Social Accounts, Blogs and Website
* Develop a manageable plan to grow a relationship with consumers (Timescales of email releases)
*Source or create products to enchance my communities and create bonds with consumers
*Gain more awareness of Mailchimp and its benefits and negatives

What I have Achieved
*Several thousand followers over social accounts
*opt in forms (Not currently strategically planned until I develop a plan for use) on 1 website, 4 Blogs and various social accounts
*A structure to launch following on and stable platform to grow the brand from this point

So here I am, I have a following which I know I can grow and build up until this point it has been a work of creation connecting with people of like minds now that I have achieved a strategy which is working I dare say numbers will not be an issue but.....

I have to this point not worked on a plan for the creation or implementation of capturing my followers email addresses but now feel I am at the point where to not introduce this I would be missing out ALOT.

So what I need is your thoughts and experiences on using mailchimp to start and also some idea of a strategy in how to approach making that connection in the first instance and then how often should I email and an appropriate way to weave in cross sells and upsells.

I know the answer to a lot of this is with people on this forum as some of the information in here is golden to which I have drawn much of my education, basically I am relentless in making this work and have failed time and again in the past, I feel I am getting somewhere as now I am growing from strength to strength but I really need to get to grips with this and would love your help guys and girls.

Thank you Warriors

That's great you're dipping your toes into email marketing! A lot of people don't realize the untapped potential and greater returns in marketing to their existing customers this way.

Once you decide on what you want to promote, it's best to follow some sort of schedule that walks the line between staying in front of customers regularly but not so much that you're cluttering their inbox. It's also helpful to send your emails around the same time of day (once you've used your analytics to narrow down what time gets the most engagement from subscribers).

As your promotional schedule takes off, supplement it with posts on social media that tie into your messaging. As far as using a DIY service, there are always positives and negatives. They're generally easy to set up and maintain, but the designs and list segmenting are usually limited to your own abilities. If you haven't also explored hiring a professional service, it may be worth a look. The company I work for handles email marketing for small businesses, and we'd be happy to help figure out what options would work for you in email marketing. Shoot me a message if you have any questions or there's anything we could do to help!

As first money is not in the list but in the relationship you build with it....

You must build your brand and not send them offer after offer... give them value and they will buy from you...

    Example:
    Monday: Free Report
    Tuesday: Free Article
    Wednesday: Free training
    Thursday: Promotional email
    Friday: Free training
    Saturday: Promotional email
    Sunday: No email

    And so on

You want your subscribers to become familiar with your brand, and so even
if you outsource the majority of the work you need to apply your own
personal style to every email you send out.

You also want to focus on balancing the amount of promotional based
emails that you are sending out to your list with informational and value ones...

    People buy you first ...

you're doing pretty great, and I love your attitude. You studied email marketing, and you're exhibiting a will power too. All you need now is a great strategy, and you'll be well on your way to success

There is a thread on these forums, Why you shouldn't use Mailchimp, so I wouldn't recommend you to choose Mailchimp as your auto-responder. I personally love its humor, but I learned from Warrior forum that it is not the best. Perhaps go with another Alternative?

As for making the connection, Always write your emails yourself. your customers should get used to your personality, they should see it reflected in your emails. As for what to emails, I can't give you a more perfect suggestion than the suggestion above!

    Good Luck!
