Leadpages Reports 25 conversions... so why do I only have 5 subscribers?

Hey Guys,

I set up a whole opt-in funnel using highly targeted Facebook ads, an eBook for an optin bribe on leadpages, and mailchimp.

But for some reason I have a huge drop off between people converting on leadpages and getting the double opt-in.

Leadpages says I've had 25 opt-ins. Perhaps 5-10 of those were just me testing everything out.

So say the number is 15.

But in Mailchimp I have only 5 people on the list.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Hard to say because you didn't share all informations.
Lead pages show you all people who opt in, but mailchimp shows you only people who confirm confirmation email, because you say that you use double opt-in...

ya its probly related to your double optin.'
I would encourage you to shut that off.
Ppl have differing opinions on this but with single optin you
now can email these ppl and they can simply opt out
if not interested. If you believe in your follow up sequence
then you should def eliminate the double optin.
If you take all tracking info as legit then you are losing a lot of people.
      great question thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your response! This definitely is a drop off occurring between submitting the email and making the double opt-in, but isn't 66% a huge drop off? I would expect 20% or something.

There can be reasons for this. For example, it is possible that the confirmation emails have something in them that is causing them to hit the spam folder.

It's also entirely possible that your audience is simply skeptical of the emails, since we live in a spam era.

Too, it might be that they gave you bogus email addresses.

How can I turn off the double opt-in in Lead Pages? I had the impression I had to keep on / was mandatory and couldn't figure out how to disable for my squeeze pages? Would love to be able to do that. Great advice on this thread btw.

You don't. You turn it off inside your autoresponder service (mailchimp in this case).

Highly recommend you use single optin...most people would agree as well.

The best thing you can do is put yourself out there.

    Hey Guys,

I hopped on a Leadpages conference call with two of their marketers. They took a look and told me the problems is that my thank you page was too complicated. I got the idea from an email marketer that my thank you page should have instructions about how to whitelist me, but that scared people away.

Thanks for all of your input, everybody!
