am scared to get started with email marketing - country laws?

Hi,

I am still unsure to get started in email marketing, scared get afoul with the law.

1) Email marketing law in each country that you reside in, Does each country law affects or it mostly standard? The guideline may seem too complicated. How about private data protection act? email marketing is illegal in some country?

2) Do you need/have a lawyer to consult? I couldn't afford for one.

3) Do you need register yourself a license as a marketing firm? instead of a individual

You sound a little paranoid and over reacting.

What Country are you from ?

I know in US for me at least this something I do not even think about.

If you are an ethical Marketer to begin with this should be of non factor

Seem like law these days are quite complicated.
I from a southeast asia country quite far from you.

In the email that you send out contains your name and address (although po box or virtual address) even as an ethical marketer.

and getting tricky as @youngm0ney mention, some may claim they did not optin too.

Anything slight mistake is a hefty fine.

They are, but if you use a mainstream, orthodox, respected autoresponder service like Aweber or GetResponse and stick to their terms of service, I think you'll find that all the necessary legalities have effectively been taken care of for you, that way.
