I believe that it is up to the individual in regards to success. One cannot slash the unsuccessful to become successful without the determination and persistence of that particular person.

If someone has determination and persistence, it's only a matter of time that they will become successful.

As to how people are doing in building and maintaining their list's... I believe that each person is different. Everyone has different goals with their list.

Obviously you need to get their email address. Which there are tons of ways to do. I particularly like giving away a free e-course or training package in return for their email.

After this is just a matter of whether you provide them value or not. Gathering them to see your offer is the tricky part. (Well, sometimes)

I really like articles, forums and blog commenting for traffic. Others may do PPC which is also another good source of targeted traffic.

I recommend that someone start off very small. Start with 1 person and work your way up. Once you have your system down, then expand and get it automated.

I'm happy with my success as it came about with hard work, but not complacent or smug enough to believe that success lasts forever without foraging new paths and connections to sustain it.
