Will be going door to door advertising my product...

Along with putting flyers all over my town in targeted spots.

Each of which both go to a squeeze page

I really would like to try that strategy someday. A kind of wish. It really seems scary to me though
      But it could be fun

    pretty much the same.

although it might change on August 17.

I think I will ask that question then.

How will your marketing strategy be different after August 17, 2015

Come on, Al - I've been waiting for someone to elaborate on this and nobody else in this thread seems privy to it... What happens on August 17? Is email going to be outlawed? A new Google fuzzy animal algorithm? Are sea levels going to rise? Will God return in a spaceship and telleport all list-builders to heaven?

You must elaborate - inquiring minds want to know!

My strategy is to make 10X what I made in 2014.
And hopefully buy 2-3 more business this year to add to my growing portfolio.
I am also opening up a CPA network this year as well which should be a cool experience.

I will stick to the basics of email marketing, However will have to work on email templates, landing page designs as the fact "how appealing your landing web page is" really makes a count in current scenario. Despite this quick changes in user interface also required to enhance user experience throughout the site.

Although I still use some solo email advertising, by and large email is so over done it's no longer as effective as other methods.

I have followed the lead of one of the largest corporations in America and #1 in the insurance industry (can't use their name here) by switching to direct mail with a website address and NOT a phone number.

They had lost market share for the first time in their history and had been spending 400 million a month (yes, per month, that is NOT a typo) in online advertising and SEO work on their thousands of websites. When you're doing $2B month, that kind of advertising budget is normal, 25% back into advertising. In fact I try to follow that rule, at least 25% if not more.

The completely abandoned their online efforts, except for branding banner ads, and put that money back into offline to online marketing. The result was remarkable. Not only did the get the lost market share back, they also GAINED market share.

They are #1 and make more money than #2 through #10 combined, they didn't get that way by accident. So, what that do I do and it works!

I use a combination of a well written sales letter and I also do some postcards, but again they are not terribly effective (for me), although others do well with them. I have a great printer, dirt cheap and very fast. The biggest expense by far is the postage. Postage is almost double what my per piece production cost is.

Facebook Ads is what is currently doing well for my Brand. Will continue with what works. I also got away with an all TEXT image for almost a month. lol Have no idea how they missed that one, but just to let you know if anyone is curious.. All text image really didn't help any on the CTR compared to just an IMAGE. hmmm

Much Success to you guys in 2015. -vic

I used a lot of FB back in the day when I could get clicks for 15 to 18 cents. Abused a lot by kids and then the big boys jumped in and it got pricy and results were meager at best.

Everyone has their own thing, perhaps it's just because one is better at on thing than another. For me, nothing has worked as well ad direct mail.

Yep. I am averaging .34 a click which is good and of course it doesn't matter what you pay per click as long as your numbers work. I love their demographics stuff. You can pick who you want to see your ads now, which I guess we are crossing our fingers that this is all real, because although I am NOT promoting in the Phillipines I do know I got an opt-in from their the other day. He may have been using a proxy though. Who knows.

As well as adding to, and engaging with, my buyers' lists I will be:

Increasing reach through social engagement that leads to sign-ups (esp on Twitter)

Producing yet more damn good content that leads to...more sign-ups because they want more...

Experimenting with other forms of paid advertising that directly help me build my lists

Publishing even more brilliantly on my newsletter, Weekend Takeaways - possibly the single best word of mouth ad for me and the reason many of my subscribers both sign up and stay with me

Always looking around for an alternative to Google's hegemony thus freeing oneself from the tyranny of SEO in a variable, extremely competitive and unpredictable marketplace. And there are alternatives such as low-cost PPC with Bingads, along with tools developed to do an 'end around' Google but not to game them...completely 'WhiteHat'. These tools exist.

To live and do business in the Google world is risky at best and fleeting for many who once thought they finally found the secret to Google's capricious and arbitrary nature.

I mean, don't get me wrong, there is and should be a proper balance to participating in a Google dominated online business world but, to solely do business with them while making and changing the rules on you is like playing roulette. I personally do not know a 'Wizard of Odds' that has conquered Google.

You gotta realize and do business knowing that there is life after Google.

That's my soapbox and I hope I gave you enough provocation to look beyond Google. It's a big world online and Google is not the only major player.

There are a few I know in here who do really well with just SEO. And SEO alone. But for the most part, I agree with what you are saying.

I personally think there are so many better alternatives.

I think to just rely solely on Google is foolhardy. These days you MUST diversify with your sources of traffic.

True. Relying on google is really like playing roulette. That's why I put seo on hold now. I just plan to build up links in places with good traffic like blog posts, partnering through resource links on other websites, etc. Just for regular marketing and promotion. Not for google. If google catches up on the links, great. Otherwise, I don't mind.

Will have to try list building once I get enough traffic

For 2015, I'l only be focusing on 3 different traffic strategies to drive traffic to my optin pages.

    They are:

    - Solo Ads
    - Facebook PPC
    - Retargeting

I'll be spending 4 months on each one, learning the ins and outs, tips and tricks...

Once I master those sources, I'll be moving on to other strategies like Bing Ads and media buys...

I'm all about that traffic boss...

      Yep, there are a few.

And there are a handful of NASCAR drivers who successfully drive 500 miles at 180+ mph with their bumpers less than a foot apart. Doesn't mean the average driver should try it, though.

    My plans :
    forum promo
    guest blogging
    affiliate marketing
    content syndication
    joint ventures

Seems like it's only a plan with no execution currently

God. Why am I so lazy.

Is the above marketing strategy any good for web hosting business?

Agreed. The more sources you can use to build a list the better, in my opinion. Though it is important to ensure that traffic is targeted properly.

I've been using Solo Ads and FB Ads in the main, but am also considering Bing - if I can ever get the $50 start-up voucher they promised me on signing up!

So far, Solo Ads have proved the most rewarding in terms of numbers (though the new leads on my list are perhaps a little harder to turn into buyers than others.

The great thing I've found about FB ads is the tremendous targeting you can do with it.
