The address you give in mail chimp

Hey guys,

So I am considering using mail chimp to start building an email list. I do have one concern though, I know you have to give a business address when people sign up in order to meet anti-spamming laws. I may be overly paranoid, but since my residence is also my business address I am a little apprehensive of giving out the address of the place I live on the web.

Has anyone else had experience with this? Did you just set up a P.O box instead? Is that a better move? Or am I just being silly? Any feedback would help. Thanks guys!

I had to do the same for GetResponse.

It's a law here in Canada that you have to give a physical address in any email list activity. They don't give you an option to not do it. I'm assuming it's the same in the US.

So far I haven't had any creepy people show up at my door (except the ones I invite of course).

    Cheers,

    Ron

I suggest that you should read this thread carefully, clicking on the links inside it, so that at least you can make a well-informed decision about that: http://www.warriorforum.com/email-ma...ml#post9689403

You're not being silly at all (and this will apply anywhere, not just at Mailchimp). Many people use either P.O. Boxes or "office accomodation addresses" or an equivalent.
