Subject Lines : Flowery, Creative or Clarity and straight to the Point ?

I use a combnation of both in my email Subject Lines to my Subs.

Some peeps like Ben Settle almost exclusively use the flowery , shock subject lines that pique people's curiosity to open them.

I have found that this has its time and place.

But the Subject lines (for me at least) that get the highest Open Rates are ones that describe EXACTLY what the Email contains

Example..."The Five best ways to get a Higher Email Open Rate "
versus " You better not Open this Email you deadbeat "
#clarity #creative #flowery #lines #point #straight #subject

    I like things like:

    Thank you

    No

    Not any more

And I make sure the inside reflects the idea of the subject line. Sometimes I write longer ones, but not so much anymore

Straight and short subject lines. If I like it, I open the email, otherwise I will delete it. If I delete few emails from my publishers, it doesn't mean that I am not a potential customer. Just that I am not interested in all topics

If you go take a look at Marketing Experiments channel, they basically agree with you've said.

But there is also the problem of monotony, if you keep using the same kind of subject lines. How long have you used that kind of subject line? and has the result been consistent?

I agree with Budi T. I have found with email marketing you really have to mix things up. From subject lines to content keep subscribers on their toes.

I definitely think mixing it up here and there like you guys suggest it always a good thing.

I like to throw a few "curveballs" in there with a some crazy subject lines to have fun and engage.

      There's no single answer.

Just have to test all the time and let your subscribers show you what they want.

I've been consistently surprised by what does and doesn't improve my open rates.
