How to do you build a list when you have your own product?

What I am trying to say is a what point do you try to get a potential buyer to get on your email list? Is it on the sale page itself or should you create a lander to presell the product with an optin form on it?

    If you're the product creator, if someone buys from you, it means the system will automatically add him/her to your buyers' list.

    Otherwise, the workaround is simple: Simply create a squeeze page. Set this SP as the download page. After a buyer optin, then he/she will get access to the product!

    A strategy that works really well is creating a free 'leadmagnet' that could be useful to your target audience. This could be a whitepaper, a cheatsheet or a short ebook relating to the topic of your product.

    Make your audience opt in to your email list to get the free leadmagnet.

    Then promote your product via email.

    If you're not launching a product, then ideally always take them through a squeeze page first. Your back-end is where your money is made. Also... make the extra effort to reach out to your subscribers on a personal level.

    For example... if you have your auto-responder in place, when people opt-in send them a personal email to remind them that they should have received the email, and if they have any questions on their mind right there and then, then feel free to ask. I also see whether that email is connected to a Facebook profile and try to connect with them on there too.

    The better your authority and relationship with those on your list, the higher chances of making that sales. Which is why you want to draw them on to your list to begin with.

    They should already be on your list at that point. When i make my WSO's people automatically join my list.

    If it's a WSO, they'll be automatically put onto your buyers list, considering you set it up that way... hopefully you did.

    Also, PayPal has a feature where after they buy a product, they can be sent to a page, such as a sales page, but make it your landing page instead, an opt in.

    Boom there you go!

    Your payment processor should have a way of linking your buyers details with a list of reputable autoresponder companies.

    For buyers I would go for a single opt-in, and then treat this list well as buyers are the most valuable part of your business.
