Putting your emails on your blog?

Hey I was wondering if any of you post your emails on your blog? I know email marketer Ben Settle does this, and a couple of others do it too.

Any thoughts?

My theory is that this can be good for SEO especially if you mail frequently as Google likes websites with fresh content. I've also stumbled onto Ben's website when I was Googling some questions related to email marketing so it can also be a good traffic source.

I'm curious whats your take on it.

E-mails really is a good way to SEO. This is friendly way to google, compared with link.

I do not do it but I do not have a problem with it.

If you are going to spend an exorbitant amount of time creating Follow Ups and Broadcasts it would not hurt to use them as original material on your Blog.

I don't see the problem with it, it has many benefits and no real downside i can think of.

Might also save you from questions if you send follow ups to previous emails.

its not so much an issue with SEO as it is with the automation.

If you use your email content and create a blog post by hand, you can easily edit the onsite SEO data add heading tags and alt tag your images and such.

With automation, I don't believe this is possible. if someone knows for a fct that it is possible, that would be awesome to know and use.

I think is a good idea. Why do you have doubts about it?

My doubts are that I'm afraid my blog posts will be kind of thin and not as beefy as one would expect from a blog post.

In that case, may harm your reputation.

Why don't post one or two great articles per week?

This way, people will see your email as a notification

I've seen people attach emails as pdfs to avoid spam words and in boxing issues. Kinda splitting hairs at that point.

    I don't, and I wouldn't want to.

I don't allow "what Google likes" to influence what I publish on my blog, unless it's pretty much effortless and harmless to do so (for example, I do some on-page SEO, because there's no downside to that).

I'm a full-time affiliate marketer, promoting (mostly, in income terms) ClickBank products, so Google traffic has only about 10% of the value to me as any other kind of traffic, anyway. It's barely worth planning for, by comparison with other issues. If Google de-indexed all my sites tomorrow morning, I think I'd lose (in round numbers) 20% of my traffic and 2% of my income.

Email marketing is, of course, the "most proximal to monetization" part of my business, and I certainly wouldn't want a situation where the subscribers receiving my emails might already have read them on my blog. And with new visitors subscribing every day, that's exactly what would happen.

I'd expect a very significant drop in income, click-through rates and open-rates, if that happened. There's not so much point in sending people by email information they've already seen elsewhere, is there?

I personally do publish my emails on the blog.

But my strategy is different from many others, I almost don't use autoresponder beyond first subscription week. All my emails are broadcast emails.

As for my reasons to post on the blog.

Firstly, my emails are written sales copy. While I do educate my subscriber, each and every email I write is designed to sell, and I only can benefit if those emails are published. Blog post is a great medium for it.

Secondly, this allows me to keep interacting with my subscribers, they can not only read, but actually leave comment and get my reply. It creates huge social proof and helps to establish myself as authority while engaging them. Being an expert in my own niche I really want this kind of engagement.

Finally, it doesn't really matter for me if my subscriber will buy from my email or from my blog.
