Email List Size For Profit?

This might be a silly question but how big should me list be before I actually start making profit from it?

I started list building 2 weeks ago and now have 65 subscribers and getting more everyday. That being said I haven't made a single sale yet. I'm I doing something wrong or is this expected with such a small niche?

Size is not the most important factor of that determines whether your subscribers base will generate sales or not. (Although I have to say that your list is still on the small side). Some people make huge money from a tiny list, like 200 subscribers.

Building a list is good and all, but we will need to know where you're getting your subscribers from? Facebook ads, solo ads, blog, etc... ?

Also give us a bit more details about how you're structuring your funnel. Like what offer you're offering, what message you're conveying in your funnel, etc...

    Hope that helps.

I'll my traffic is coming from youtube. And I'm using getresponse to send them emails every few days with useful info and an occasional clickbank affiliate link. Any suggestions?

Correct, silly question. Your thought process is all wrong. Being extremely subjective is the way to go. Would you buy from you?

While the list count in relation to a profit somewhat subjective, if you know what are you doing, you should see sales pretty much right away.

  • Also, 65 subscribers is a tiny number. With solo ads you should expect 1% buyers. Generally speaking with email marketing I think solo ads work best than other sources. So maybe you need 200+ to make your first sale. go on

Size doesnt matter. what matters is the quality of the list and the quality of the information you are providing to the list. You could have a list of 10 people if those 10 people are active subscibers and you are providing them with quality relevant information to what they are looking for along with affiliate links to good products you will make money.

Do you mean "with such a small list"?

If it's something on ClickBank that you're promoting, it's too early to tell, with only 65 subscribers.

People generally measure their ClickBank conversion-rates according to the number of clicks on their hoplinks. In general, you need about 1,000 sales page visits before you can start drawing conclusions, and about 2,000 sales page visits before you can be confident of your conversion-rate.

Nobody can tell you, without looking at everything you're doing, whether you're doing anything wrong, but nothing you said in your general description above rang any alarm bells. You're using a good autoresponder, you're sending "niche material" with occasional product recommendations, you're building the list and attracting new susbscribers regularly. Nothing there screams "mistake", certainly. As long as you're not making any other classic mistakes (such as sending your traffic to a sales page with a vendor's opt-in on it?), I'd carry on doing what you're doing and "await developments", if I were you. And good luck!

I remember my first sale when I started out I got 364 subscribers and made a $88 commissions in sales. A small list can be very profitable if treated right

It's not the size of the list, it's the quality of your funnel and relationship you build that will determine how much profit you will make.

Advertise the right products to people who are interested and you can easily get double digit conversions.
