Aweber confirmation emails without the actual confirmation link!?

I have a situation and wanted to see if you guys have had this happen, and if so, how you fixed the issue.

I just got an email from a reader who signed up for one of our lists. And she did receive the confirmation email, however, the email didn't include the link. In fact, the email didn't include any text at all, but one word "content"!

So, I went to find her email in the list (I am with Aweber by the way). And while looking up her email in my list, I noticed that there were almost 500 confirmation pending subs just within the last 30 days. While I know not everyone confirms their email, I wonder if some of these signups are also getting similar confirmation emails where there is no link to confirm, so they just give up on subscribing again thinking its some kind of a scam.

I know Aweber deletes pending confirmations after 30 days if they don't confirm. But 500 in a month seems a bit too high based on the numbers I have had before.

So I wonder if anyone has had this issue where confirmation email gets received but without the actual confirmation link for subs to click on.

I contacted Aweber and am waiting to hear from them. But I just wanted to see what other people think.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have never had that issue as far as I know, but that amount of signups is more than likely a robot signing up to target single optin lists hoping for something free.

      Thanks for taking to reply.

It could be a robot, but not because of the numbers of sign ups. I do have a pretty large and very responsive list and my subscription rate is up to 50-60 a day.

      Anyway, thanks Michael.

It sounds rather alarming, doesn't it?

I have nothing constructive to offer, here, but am watching the thread with interest, Satrap, and would be most grateful if you'll continue to update it, as and when you learn any more about this? And thanks in advance ... good to see you posting - I'm only sorry it was with regard to a "problem".
