Sending subscribers to Youtube videos

Trying to figure out ways of making emails more interesting and enjoyable to my readers. So I subscribed to other people's lists in my niche to see what they were doing.

One person often links to other people's Youtube videos. I'm wondering what your guys thoughts are on that. Is it okay to use other people's content like that - send your list to other people's educational Youtube videos? Personally, I really like that strategy because it means less content I have to create and there are lots of good videos to choose from. And I love to learn from videos - I think a lot of people do, rather than just read read read all the time. What are your thoughts on that?

If I wanted to do this with several Youtube videos and have them set it up in the auto-responder as automated emails rather than broadcast emails, how would you know if one of the videos got removed from Youtube? You don't want to be sending your subscribers to videos that aren't even there anymore.

I would look to see if you can find any good creative commons videos you can use first. Baring that I thinks its ok to curate content from other sources and send your subscribers to it.

However over time I would try to replace it with my own content.

How about watching and learning from the YouTube videos you want to use, then creating your own and posting them to a blog page. Then you can add advertising and you aren't wasting your traffic.

You can use curated content style with aggregation. There are plugins through which you can host youtube videos on your blog and show only play and pause button. In this way visitors will not move to youtube and you can redirect them to any other link or ads on your site. Aggregating content is normal process.

And as videos are displayed on your site, then you can get notification, when any links or videos not working or showing errors. You are in compete control.

    Nice tips guys. Thanks.

It probably is a good idea to eventually create my own videos. I'm just trying to figure out a way to create an email series as quickly as possible. Maybe I could use other people's videos for now, and later work on replacing them with my own.

I've never heard of creative commons. I'm not sure how you tell if a video is a creative commons video.

deekay - I wonder if that can also be done with videos that you put in emails that you send your list. Instead of sending them to videos on Youtube or Youtube videos embedded in your blog, put the Youtube videos right in the emails. Is there some way of doing that where the video only have a pause and play button so they can't click back to Youtube? And would you still get notified if any links or videos stop working?

    Hi ncloud!

There is nothing wrong to send your subscribers to other people's video for educational purposes. I guess you just need to screen the video itself by yourself and if that video does not contain any false claims without any proof, then you will be safe that video will not be removed from the platform.

Learn from those video and try to do a video by yourself too.

    All the best!
