Staying Compliant With MailChimp

Hello All,

I have recently gotten into the email marketing world and I've been thrown immediately into the fire. At my job we are just getting started emailng our users. So the first thing I did was import all of our existing registrants to our MailChimp list thinking it was fine since these were people who registered on our website. Unfortunately, not too long after, MailChimp flagged our account and told us to remove the users since they had detected an unacceptable level of bounces. Our site has existed for a few years, so some of these users have been registered for years.

My question is - how can we get thee users back into MailChimp? We are currently mailing newly registered users [who are added to our list via an API when they sign up on our site], which is going well so far, but my bosses really want to start mailing our existing user base. We tried a reconfirmation campaign (which MailChimp recommended) through Intercom (a service we used before I came on board) but we didn't get a great result. Are we better off just not adding these users to our list since?

You will be hard pressed to find an esp that is just going to let you import a list that did not subscribe through their web forms.
If they allowed this, every spammer in the world would be abusing their systems.
You can clearly understand why they want all the opt ins to happen thru their own forms.

I do understand. So do you think we'd be better of just not uploading them at all?

You Could send an email at every old contatct (I know it s a bit boring) in which you offer free materials,
but for have it, they must click a link that redirects them in a page in which they must let their mail.

I hope I explained and Good Luck

All these Email Marketer service providers are very restrict to list uploads. Is there any provider which allows for unlimited uploads of data?

How much data do you want to upload?

Also, you could just use an SMTP service like dyn, sendgrid, etc... But depending on how big your list is and how frequent you sent messages, an autoresponder could be cheaper. Most autoresponders charge based on the number of subscribers and smtps charge on the number of messages.
