    It you have a blog, and you want to avoid spammers posting on it.
    All you have to do is change the settings so you have to manually approve posts, and disable the auto-approve feature.

    This will make a huge difference in the amount of spam posts you get.
    You could also add a captcha to the comments to increase it another level.

    My few suggestions on blocking spammers:

    1) Use WordPress antispam plugins. This will require your visitor to insert some personal details in case to write a comment and most of the spammers do not waste their time on doing so.

    2) If you receive some kind of emails that you don't know from who it is - unsubscribe them.

    3) When somewhere publishing your email address - make it unscannable. Write it like this: myemail(at)yahoo(dot)com.

    4) Never ever respond to the emails - this will only show that you are reading and are active.

    5) Block the report spam in Gmail.
