Export all your Facebook friends emails and add to your Email list... I found a way!

Not sure if anyone has done this...

I noticed that Yahoo allows you to import all your FB friends' email addresses (at least the ones who shared their emails on their profile) onto your Yahoo's Contact list... I exported them and added them on my list... since facebook wouldn't allow me to reach them all without buying ads...

Did all your Facebook friends give you permission to email them marketing emails? If not, you are going to get a lot of spam complaints.

They obviously didn't .. how can I possibly ask every single one of them for a permission... clearly this is a "cold" list ... Ive done it before with an old hotmail list... I did get a few abuse reports and unsubscribeds but I was able to get a good amount of optins... I thought it was worth the effort.

Also, targeting "cold" list is a common practice... companies have bought huge lists from other companies most of us are familiar with... you'd be surprised who's selling their lists.. though it is a gamble and for sure no doubt risky... it is also a reality that companies gamble on cold list everyday

  • Yes, you're right. It is common practice to spam people who haven't given you permission to send them emails. However, some folk are not twats and don't do it.

By the way, you need to brush up on your anti-spam laws. You're clearly confused.

You might get a lot of spam complaints. which service do you use for sending emails to your list?

keep in mind that if the service is decent they will ban you if you exceed 7% spam complaints

    You said...

I exported them and added them on my list... since facebook wouldn't allow me to reach them all without buying ads...

So either you are a spammer already or are getting ready to become a spammer. Or you now see the error in your ways and are not going to do it.

It's one of the three. Also you now know what you originally described is considered spamming. It's up to you if you take the advice or not.

...Or I could use the list to send Birthday cards, or how about a "Just Saying Hello" cards with cute little pink bunnies. Hmmm...

But you really do sound like a seasoned old wise man, Tod.

You know good and well that was not your intention.

...And what was your "intention" when you joined the Black Hat World community?

Are you applying those methods to your business now?

Actually I joined because it allows me to prevent the blackhat boards sharing my products. Blackhat boards don't allow the sharing of members products. You notice I use my real name on them and that I don't hide behind an alias?

Also you can take a blackhat method and change it around to become a whitehat method that works well.

You go right ahead and be a spammer if that makes you happy. It's your business.

This has been a very entertaining thread though.

Hope you have learned a little bit about what a spammer is.

So you are a Black Hatter! Isn't black hat illegal? a criminal act?

The thing is... I am not spammer since I am no position to spam...
you just "ass"ume I am.. maybe cuz you're a bitter old man.

but isn't spamming a black hat activity...
that is why you know so much about it! Now it makes more sense.
And since you have engaged in this activity... how could you do business with people when you have a previous Black Hat community association?

              You've been a bad boy, Robby !

Oh, BTW my name is Felipe Abrigo... you can search me on the net... no one can hide from the internet.. we're all exposed!

Now you are just grasping at straws. You are getting your post count up though. So I guess something good is coming out of this.

How that was a sharp turn, Robster!

But what the hell, we're all here to learn, right?
Looking for any good SEO strategy, method, or gurus is like looking for a perfect date... you wouldn't know how good she is or if she’s a good fit for you until you start going out.

SEO is the same thing... first, before you test the strategy, it has to make sense to you... then make sure you can measure its efficacy... and know when to pull out (no pun in relevance to dating) is up to you... concentrate on one method at a time...

I don't have to recommend an SEO guru... cuz you can throw a pebble with eyes close and hit one anywhere on the net... but most of them have something good to offer. Like shopping for groceries, just buy what you need.

What makes sense to me strategy-wise is to engage heavy in Social Media Marketing.. Search engines don't have a choice but to listen in their conversations.

Another is to become a consistent media publisher (especially videos), content marketing is getting stronger and stronger... teach your target audience all that you've got to relieve their pain points... and they'll be your loyal followers.

Though it's hard to know exactly what the SE algo is... but IMHO, just watch what the big guys or your successful competitors are doing and get to know (study) their SEO profile.
