Setting up a email list [Compliance]

Hi,

We are planning on setting up an email list for 2 companies that are in a partnership, however we were wondering if it would be compliant with Canada's spam laws.

The email addresses will be collected at the same time for both parties of the partnership. Later on, each party would receive the email list to continue their seperate email marketing.

Does anyone have any experience in this matter? If we add a disclaimer stating that by signing up to the mailing list, the subscriber agrees to receive newsletters from BOTH companies, would that achieve compliance?

Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi - sorry, dont know specifics, but ive seen loads of places where you sign up once but get placed on multiple lists. If it was me, i would just mention it on the sign up page and that would be it. cant see it being a major issue :-)

This is fine and party of basic 1st and 3rd party list sharing.
Just make sure your terms and conditions are tight on your website.

Just put it all in your privacy, add an unsubscribe link, and you'll be golden.

Yep, just make it clear to the subscriber that they will be signing up to receive communications from two companies if they opt in.
