I am totally new in doing email marketing like official first time hands on......So if I am writing articles/blog posts, how can I build a list for email marketing? Since my objective of blog writing is to make conversions whether it be in sales of product purchases or subscribers to my blogs or even to earn affiliate commissions with signups beneath me?

What I am really afraid of is no one wanting to sign up with me or subscribe; would be an embarrassing outcome....

Sometimes you have to also give away something. Even though giving away things you will have plenty of tire kickers whom just may want your free items. I would think about what you can give away, and start from there. I hope that helps some.

Oh yes very good point! I forgot about that element of "giving away something for optining in".

      cheers

Yes, giving a free gift is one of the best way to entice your reader to sign up to your list. And a research shows that the free giveaway the reader and subscribers like the most are templates and tools. You make share or create a templates / tools that your subscribers could use and apply right away. I also like this kind of resource very much

Then why don't the websites with the pop up to submit email offer any particular gifts for signing up?

I'm not sure what kind of pop ups you encountered, but some of the pop ups that I see in websites ask to submit email to get an update on the blog post, or get an update on their product on that websites. You may not get a free gifts once you signed up, instead you will get an email notice on the new blog post from the blog, or a new product notice that may help you.

That is just one of many ways to generate leads and building your list.

1 you must ahave a squeeze page-
2 use PPC for direct traffic into this Squeeze page.
3 Place in your article some keyword-link that direct in your squeezepage!

I suggest focusing on giving away a great opt in gift or lead magnet, something that is not to cumbersome on you but would add great value to your list. Try different ones.

Always end each blog post your write with a call to action : Write something like "For Even MORE Tips on How you can do ______ Click Here" Leading them to your squeeze page. Focus on providing quality content above all else and they will sign up. Another thing you can add on your blog is a "Pop Up" they're annoying but they work.

If you engage in good conversation on your blog and you offer an enticing reason to join your email list, you will get subscribers. Even if you don't, there is no need to be embarrassed as you can test another optin form.

Hey if you have a blog that you post to on a regular basis then simply create a squeeze page or optin on the actual site telling them to opt-in to receive updates on whatever the information is you are writing about... example:
      your blog is makemoneyonline.com
on this blog you post weekly articles about different things on making money online.
simple use a pop-up/squeeze page/or just ut opt-in form on the actual site maybe in the side bar...
Just tell them the things you will write about... something like
subscribe to my weekly newsletter where you'll get FREE tips on:
      cpa marketing
      creating your own site
      adsense
how to get unlimited free traffic
      blah blah blah
you don't necessarily have to create anything in particular...
I hope you get the idea here... just leverage what you already have to create a list of followers.
