Question about email follow-ups to buyers list

Hi all,

I've recently started to build a list.

I've been reading all I can about the matter and I know that you should keep your buyers and subscribers separately and send different types of emails to these lists.

I've read in a couple of places that, to your buyers list, you should send "broadcast emails" instead of hard-selling products to them.

I've have a difficult time getting the grasp of this concept as I'm not a native English speaker.

I did a google search but the only definition I found for the term was that of a massive email message instead of a 1-on-1 email.

How is that different from normal follop-ups to subscribers?

I'd appreciate any guidance on the matter.

    Depend of the niche.
If you sell material products as sport supplement you should send mail to inform subscribers for example about new offers.

If you sell info products as video , ebook, often you have a small catalogue so your goals is that your customers buy your specific products! In this case you need follow up!

In this case you could use both: create an automatic follow up and send broacast mail to inform about offers, events, new products!

    Hi, thanks for the response.

I'm in the IM niche, by the way.

By small catalogue you mean selling my own products to the buyers list instead of promoting affiliate offers like you would with your subscribers list?

I guess I still don't understand the difference between broadcast emails and normal follow-ups

    Thanks again

I assume the term "follow ups" would be via the Auto-Responder. However... sending a broadcast email can be sent anytime and any day at your command as opposed to your follow-up sequence being somewhat automated.

To be honest, you still want to deliver your content and value to your entire list. If you have your own product and want to give buyers an first insight, then that is something you may want to consider. But in terms of the value and consistency in the content, you should still provide that to everyone.

You may want to work more closely with your buyers in the sense that, you may want to use their emails and connect with them on Facebook. Build that relationship even further and see what they really need help with, maybe they need a tool or a product that you could recommend, or maybe they want to take it an extra step further and request coaching.

So... give your buyers priority in terms of your time, but still go out your way to deliver value to non-buyers too. A lot of people sit on the fence before doing anything. But be consistent and sooner or later, you'll notice improvements.

The simple version...your follow up messages are already set up (you wrote them and their sitting their waiting to go out in a certain order and time you set). The broadcast message is like a live news blast, you basically load the message and hit send, it go's out to people instantly, so great for live promo's, current stuff that wouldn't relate in a follow up.

Like if load 4th of july sale and they see it in december, they'll think you're crazy, so 4th you could simply broadcast a live message with your sale. But...

No matter what type of list, continue to follow up, but provide value and entertainment to your list and not only will they keep opening your stuff, they'll enjoy buying from you too.

Thanks to all for your responses!

Could you recommend a few ways to provide value to your list?

Free giveaways, blog posts, youtube videos?

Also, would you recommend a WSO or product that's about email follow-ups? Not the done-for-you type products, but something with more insight.

    Thank you all so much!
