What Text Editor Do You Use?

60 character length seems to be the golden rule. Manually counting every line to 60 characters seems like a legit way to do it -- if I'm looking to go "full retard" (just watched Tropic Thunder, haha). So, that said, what text editors do you use to lock in 60 character length.

My google searches are coming up with bubkiss, as I am likely not putting in the right info -- not sure what term to search for to find a good email marketing text editor (I'm going to try that term right now!)

Thanks!

60 character limit sounds so old... like pre-HTML email, old. Is that what you're talking about? If so, can you explain why? As far as I can remember (which isn't too far), that limit was put into place for email clients that couldn't wrap lines. But we've progressed since then!

Surely, that's not what you're talking about. Is it?

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. Every guide I've read and ecourse recommends 60 character limit -- regardless of html type emails.

I'm sorry. It's just that your 60-character requirement is so old. I don't think there's any software today that provides such a thing. Not unless it's DOS or Windows 3.1 software!!

As such, maybe you'll have some luck hunting down old text editors.

I write my emails down first in Notepad. I try to just write and not edit myself as I do it. Once I make an email I'm happy with I'll copy/paste it over to my autoresponder services email creator and send it.
