Is email marketing the best strategy for 2015?

Only 2% of people who shop online buy something that they see for the first time. The other 98% of people however do not. With the internet being as popular as it is today, we live in the most informed generation to date. I'm sure that most of you even will see something online and then do research on that product/service by reading reviews or watching videos on it before making the decision to purchase. In that time you will come back to the product/service multiple times and see if there is any other sites that have it for a cheaper price.

When I first started affiliate marketing I started by creating niche sites, trying to get to the first page of google and promoting products with a very low commission rate. I saw that I was getting a lot more new visitors then returning visitors. I made some sales, but I was really marketing to the 2%.

I found email marketing which allows you to market to your list over and over as well as build a relationship with your list. I have seen better results with email marketing than I did with with any of my niche sites and I was also able to promote products/services with a much higher commission rate!

I think this is the key. In order to ensure email marketing is effective (and not just seen as spam by your own customers), it is vital to segment communication to precisely what is requested by users, not just bulk email everyone on a list repeatedly.

  • Email marketing beats out all other online marketing efforts.

Email marketing is important because it keeps your business in front of subscribers to your newsletter. It allows fast product release and update notifications thus creating customer loyalty and satisfaction. People reading your newsletter are more likely to click on an ad link than say a random ad on the Internet.

Those are the top reasons email marketing is still king.

You cannot begin to email market unless you have people on your list.
The best strategy for 2015 is to get targeted leads.
      How do you do that?

E-mail marketing is one strategy to boost your commissions, but whether it's "best" is debatable. How effective e-mail marketing is really depends on the relationship you have with your list and its responsiveness. Also, most people that build niche sites also build lists because they act as a second income stream for their sites, so it's not an either-or kind of situation. You do both. Finally, I'm not a fan of promoting really low-costs items. It takes pretty much the same amount of work to promote a lower-cost item as it does a more expensive one.

Just one quick question for you.

Do your emails just contain text or do you also put a link in there so that your email recipient can view your message in an video?

Some people prefer to watch videos to learn about something (particularly if they are dyslexic) whereas others prefer to read the message and if you put a link to the video in your email they can choose which method suits them best. It's a win / win situation.

Just one proviso...keep the video short and to the point !!

Email is one component but it's really the strategy of re marketing and re-targeting which a lot of businesses are now doing to bring in more business.

In my opinion the strategy is going to be MARKETING AUTOMATION which can help businesses build out automated drip campaigns to target and market to customers that visit their e-commerce online stores. After the customer visits and browses around, through marketing automation you can send targeted messages about which products they viewed on your website via email marketing, sms text message marketing, social media, etc.

Email marketing is the best way to create a long relationship with your leads and clients.
Combined with podcast or Youtube channel, it gives even better experience and better results.

And if you want to market to other 98% of leads on quick basis, take advantage of remarketing and RTB.

There is absolutely no question that email marketing will continue to be a viable model to profit from in online endeavors.

Social media and sharing with the younger generation is powerful, but one- on- one emails and the personable relationships developed within them will continue to be relevant for many years to come.

Email marketing is the strategy that always makes the most sense to me, because once you get someone on your list you can speak to them repeatedly. Unlike an ad where you're paying to talk to them each time.

If you build a good relationship with your list it is truly awesome, not only from a revenue perspective, but from the fact that you're genuinely helping people out.

        Love it!

One thing I have noticed, from a personal perspective is I switch off from places I've subscribed to after a couple of months, especially if I get too many emails. I find one a month keeps me interested, "oh, I forgot about this, looks interesting I'll go take a look." More than1 a week, it goes in the bin and I end up unsubscribing.

What have you found to be the most effective in your drip campaigns?

Email marketing is a great way to take your brand and mobilize it into action. However, you must be careful that you are not contacting your subscribers too often (once a week is too much) and that you're providing valuable and useful content to them.

Um, I know email marketing gurus who email their subscribers everyday almost. I wouldn't go about it that way but I would say to email them a couple times a week.

You want your list to stay warm at all times so that you can eventually heat it up a little bit more and then promote a product.

But, email marketing is always a superb strategy because you are in personal contact with your list. Treat your list like your best friend and you could eventually be printing money. Just my thoughts.

How often you can contact your subscribers and still keep them responsive depends on how much value (translate as - reason to open your email message) you provide. There is no magic formula; there is no too little, or too much, when it comes to frequency of contact. Each list will be different depending on what the list subscriber's needs are.

Email marketing does work, when done right and with the right list. Your biggest asset in email marketing is of course your list, make sure to keep it clean and always up to date. Keep track of your unsubscribes and bounces, analyse the frequency with which you are sending your emails. Most email marketing platforms have their own blogs and teams of marketers who write their materials- read them. They do help, not only to learn about email marketing but about the products itself and their destinct features.

I think that it is a good strategy to have, you just need to be able to do it in the right way. Sending out dozens of emails each week to your potential customers, especially the ones that have no interest to your customers is actually just going to scare them away. They will become annoyed and often block you as spam rather than unregistering from the email list. This makes it harder for you to get into the mailboxes of others and soon you are failing with this platform. This is a mistake that a lot of people fall under and it is going to cause a lot of harm to your business. Often the way that the email marketing is used is the issue rather than the fact that you used the marketing in the first place.

There are a few things that you can keep in mind when you are getting started with your online campaign. You first need to remember that you need to provide value to the customers. Showing a sale that is only a bit off or that they have to make a huge purchase for first is not really a good idea. A few articles that might be of interest, depending on your business, as well as when you have some big sales can really help to keep the customer base around. Of course, you should also consider having exclusive deals that are only offered to those who are on your email list.

You also need to keep the amount of posting down to a minimum. It is not necessary to send out countless emails each day and annoy the customers. They want to hear about things that are special, not be told about every waking moment of the company. Only send out an email when it is going to show some value to your customer. Otherwise it is not that important.

If you think, not everyone will purchase when they first see the offer. It takes around 4-7 followup emails to let the subscribers consider about the product.

It is also important to have a email list so we can send them high quality content from our blog and give them value and they will respond more to our emails and visit our websites. One of our strategies to bring visitors to our site.
