What to sell to 12k list in dating niche?

I have a list of about 12k in the dating niche, who have been on my list for up to a year. I make only about $300 in revenue per month selling Clickbank products (mostly seduction stuff). I get open rates of 6-8% so it's not a highly responsive list, but I do get some e-mail replies from them and comments on my blog. I'm doing my best to be more responsive and build a fan base to sell to since I used to never reply to stuff until about a month ago.

I think they are probably tired of seeing my pitches sending them to a clickbank VSL and I need to sell them something else. What else is there with a high markup besides information products? I feel like I need to sell them men's fashion or multivitamins or something, but I'm not aware of much profit margin on those to make it worthwhile.

Do you mind telling where you got your list of 12k subscribers from? I'd imagine you'd make a lot more sales with a list that big. It's possible that most of your subscribers aren't even interested in dating and those who are, you shouldn't keep sending them to affiliate offers. People aren't dumb! They get annoyed and lose interest after a while. Some will even unsubscribe.

You're better off sending them free valuable information that solves their problems and once in a while you can send them to an offer. That way they are more inclined to purchase something.

offer them 12000 dates. That's what many of them want. Then create other products that may be suitable.

    Need more info bro:

What does your list look like. Age group? Income?

Also you're right that a list gets burnt out by pitchfests...

Your open rates are ok but they could be better. Why don't you post one of your emails here? Maybe we can help you increase conversions by making your copy better...

    Thanks!

I would say try CPA offers that you get paid when they sign up to dating sites... Find out your demographics if you don't already know and find suitable dating offers on places like offer vault and sign up to the network and test those out... Pretty sure it will have better conversions than clickbank products...

Dating products of course. And you could do some cross selling with fitness and weight loss
products which can go over well. You know, you want to pick up more women so you need to get those six pack abs

CPA dating sites are the obvious choice. They convert on a lead rather than a sale and there are loads of offers available for different sub-niches. Just keep in mind that you'll get kicked off the offers for low-quality leads if you're framing the sites as "100% free" - people need to purchase subscriptions on the backend for the advertiser to be profitable.

The great thing about dating is you can potentially promote anything that would help them get a date. Think weight loss, teeth whitening, PUA, clothing...depending on the demographics of your list.

I've got weight loss products if you want to give those a try. The biggest time of the year for weight loss is coming up in a few months once the holiday festivities kick in.

  • Not sure if this is what you're after but maybe contact the owners of X (Just google it) and strike some deal with them, I've used some of their stuff before.

    EDIT:
X is a dating community with lots of products and some serious brand love (and hate ofc).

Not sure of the rules yet so I made the name into an X instead, pm me if you need the name.

There are various good offers on Clickbank for dating niche that converts very well. But before you go on promoting that to your subscribers, I would suggest that you carry out a survey with your list and ask them what are their specific problems related to Dating life.

then go about finding the right offer.

Here's a thought: Maybe you don't want to sell your contacts anything directly.

If you could refresh your list by maybe offering some type of sweepstakes and only culling the responsive ones to another smaller but active list, you could maybe rent that new list to solo ad buyers in that niche and monetize that way.

Solo Ads are virtually guaranteed income if your list is quality.

I think with such a big list, you need to just take action

    - Try to give freebies, build some interaction.
    - After that you can run 1 or 2 surveys, to see what the list wants, and how many people are active.
    - To start of just use swipe copies from clickbank and CPA, and promote them.
    - You can also use it to rent out the list, but do that later, if you are not able to see gains yourself.

you may sell it .. or look for cpc, cpa campaigns. It may help you to get something out of that list. Otherwise it's of no use, keep them with you.

My Suggestion: you must use your list as soon as possible otherwise. They may loose their interest.

Simple, offer them educational material on dating. For example you could get an ebook written and

place your affiliate links throughout the book. Show your customers value and they will buy from

    you forever.

Try bringing value to your list, give them something that they want, for free, so that they get more interested. Make a pause from those promotional emails, just for a while. Then try changing your title in the promotional emails and put "re:" in there. This should increase your open rates and thus hopefully lead to more sales. Hope this helps

You can give them good content like ebook or pdf and have a resource area that link to different offers that will benefit them

    Hi,
that's a huge list I must say! Awesome!

    To answer your question:

An easy way to increase both your open rates and relationship and make money at the SAME TIME would be to sell solo ads. Solo's are email list traffic.

Someone buying a solo from you, might want to build there list, so they will link to there squeeze page which probably has an awesome gift... The gift is free (you gotta check) so you're subscribers are going to be "happy" in my opinion. Thus, higher open rates in the future.

To get even higher open rates just make valuable products on your own and give them away to your list. That's key to high open rates in my opinion! Really this is all my opinion (all of this)!

You just gotta do the research on where you can sell Solos!

Anyways, I hope I could help you!
    You can do it!

At this point it seems like your list has become unresponsive because now when they receive an email from you; they know it's yet just another pitch. Try to send them some valuable content(especially actionable content). There are plenty of good dating related youtube videos you can send them to. Popular magazines like Askmen have both videos and good content with killer headlines you can use to draw inspiration from to use for your content and email subject headlines to get your subscribers opening again. Of course you will still have those that just won't open probably because they don't even monitor that email anymore. Those are the ones you just want to delete and not wait for them to unsubscribe because they probably never will and will just cost you more money.

In these value based emails, you also want to include links for them to click through to more great dating related content you find around the web where you're not selling anything. By doing this, you're simultaneously building good will and getting your subscribers in the habit of CLICKING your links so much so that when you do send promotional emails you will get more clicks and eyeballs on your offers.

CPA offers in which your subscribers don't have to spend money for you to get paid are always good, health related stuff/gaining muscle, finance, style/clothing as you mentioned...even learning how to play instruments like piano and guitar... the key is to always relate it back to how these newly acquired skills or improved physical appearance makes them more attractive to women. Focus on providing value and trying to help your subscribers and they will tend to trust your RECOMMENDATIONS.

I realize it makes the whole process a little more tedious but give your subscribers value and they will tend to reward you in return. I hope this helps.

Your numbers are not bad, except for the money you are earning from this.

What you need to do is find out exactly what they are looking. Send them a few Surveys!

You can use services like surveymonkey.com and learn more from the people on your list. Once you learn more from them and what they are really looking for, do some research and find affiliate products with high upsells.

Or just create your own product - that gives them exactly what they want and have some high ticket products as upsells.

Asking your list the right questions is the best way to find out what they are looking for and what they are interested in buying!

Do this one thing, and you will see how you can increase your earnings from your list!

    Keep up the great work!

Pheromone fragrances - you can find merchants with affiliate programs at Shareasale, CJ & elsewhere.

Link to books at Amazon as well. Note- the commission % is small compared to Clickbank but then people will purchase additional items like a blender or whatever.

I feel that demographics plays a big role in this case (especially given that men and women are so different when it comes to dating). Also, it can depend on culture and upbringing.

This is what you NEED to do if you want to make some real monies off your list….

First, pick out a dating product from Clickbank or another affiliate site like that (obviously it would be different depending upon if it's for men or women).

Now what you DON'T want to do is just send out an email asking them to buy this stuff from you (that's what amateurs do…amateurs don't make no monies). Instead, pre-frame the offer.

By pre-frame, I I mean send out some relevant content emails (can be an article, video, etc) that explains how to do something related to what the affiliate product you're promoting is about….

For example (and this is a very off the top of my head simple example), if the product I'm promoting is 'how to ask a girl on a date', then sending out quality content about 'how to meet girls' would be perfect! The whole idea being that you're going to help them meet a girl, but to ask them on a date, you'll need to purchase this product.

I hope that helps and best of luck

Have you thought about creating your own product or products? Like ebooks or an online course?

Often, people who struggle in their dating life also struggle with confidence, fitness, fashion sense, and lifestyle choices. Any of those topics could be turned into books and courses.

You might want to take a look at Mark Manson. He's a personal development blogger, but he started out giving men's dating advice.

His book and courses are rooted in the dating advice he used to give (he still gives dating advice, but only every once in a while and it's not as targeted).

In my experience, selling your own products usually provides more revenue than affiliate offers, especially if you've got a large email list.

Not only do they tend to bring in more revenue, but they help you build a brand and credibility in the space as well.
