Email marketing question

When email marketing, is it best to send to landing page or youtube video?

We have a demo of a product on youtube with our contact details on the video, or is it best to create a landing page and embed the video and point out the key benefits?

Please advise which in your experience would have the greater conversion rate?

I think you’d better send visitors to landing pages and you should as well attach video in your landing page. So all completely sen by visitors on one page. Sometimes visitors do not want to watch video especially if the content of the video is only text.

I agree with viewvital. It is better to send visitors to landing page rather than sending them to video channel.
Your landing page should be attractive and have all the useful information about your products.

I always like to put my videos on my blog or on a page specifically for the video. On YouTube you're competing for their attention since they see the related videos on the right which could distract them.

Yup, totally redirect them to a landing page, this should engage more as there are more chances to include more call to action buttons and etc. And then in your landing page you can easily include your Youtube video as well as an introductory element.

Embed into your page mate, gives you much more control then as it's on your page.
You can easily display your benefits as stated around this, plus there's no youtube distraction of similar products or anything else that could distract them from your product and message. ("OTHER PRODUCT by other affiliate marketer" "kitten drives tractor LOL" etc..)

Videos convert much better than text so send them to your video. If you have a blog embed the video on it and then send them to your squeeze page.

Yes, having a lead capture page with a brief (and "to the point") video embedded can work - but you still have to have an excellent Headline, and also have a stellar CTA (a Call to Action arrow, or some other graphic).

Amazingly, the CTA is very important. Look at it like this - people need to have it pointed out to them, as to what ACTION to take (like "Sign Up to Get Your Free Report").

I use call to action arrows & boxes inside my emails (as it increases click through rate) - I use "Email Countdown" app.

One idea is to create a brief video explaining about the valuable report they'll be getting IF they sign up (for yr Newsletter) - the report can be a Presell Report which delivers a certain amt of valuable info about your actual product - but which leaves some things out.

After all, you want them to buy your product - so you dont want to give too much away.

      Hope this helps you.

If you do email marketing for your own list, then I think it is better you send them to your blog post with your promo video embedded to it.

Send them to your Landing Page Always with a Video in it. It would make sense if they are interested in Video they would see it + Also You have a Call to action there. You would get double benefits.

I think the whole point in internet marketing is to build your list of e-mails, and the most effective way is the opt in page because it allowd you to collect the e-mails in order to communicate with later.

    With everyone else...

I'm thinking YouTube wants it's viewers to stay on YouTube, watching more ads and clicking more ads. They ain't stupid.

    Distraction central.

That said, I've seen decent marketers do it, people like Andre Chaperon has linked (an open in new tab) to videos and other peoples pages. Often to build value or add a proof aspect to his stories, sales letters and squeeze pages.

Zig while others zag ... maybe?

I was taught that your landing page's (LP) main purpose is to get someone to opt-in to your email list. It needs to have Headline, maybe sub headline, bullet points, photo and CTA button.

I have no experience of seeing a LP with a video. I have seen a thank you page that leads to a video sales letter (VSL) with the intent to sell a product so you attempt to monetize immediately while client is in the initial part of the funnel.

I may be off the mark for the post because of the video and I apologize if I am.

Just wanted to share what I learned.
