13% open rate on second email, good or bad?

Hi, at the time I sent my second email, I had 178 optins from Facebook. There was a 13% open rate from Facebook ads. I am focusing on a niche with a health problem.

How good or bad is this number? It seems low to me, but I don't have the experience to really judge.

I was going to say it wouldn't be horribly bad if it was the MMO Niche ( still weak, though) but it is a health niche and sorry to say that is not a good result at all.

Try a different subject line, and make sure the first sentence of the email intrigues them and gets them to click on your email.

13% isn't horrible, but for niches outside of IM like the guy above me wrote, it should be higher.

One problem I would say is that subscribers are more likely to open in the beginning. So the open rate on your second email usually goes down by the time you get to your 10th email.

I would look at the subject line and the way you are getting subscribers. Make sure what they are signing up for closely matches the emails they are getting

    Quick question.

What is your open rate on first email? If it is low than this can be explanation why second email has such low open rates.

Otherwise 13% is really low open rate. But likely is a fixable issue.
