Solo ads - need a few pointers

Hey,

I'm 21 years old, and currently being treated for quite bad case of Chrons disease (They had to take quite alot of my 'guts' out, and now we are talking about placing in some plastic ones etc. Anyway, I've been now at home for over 2 years, unable to continue school or get a job. But, I did manage to make atleast some money via fiverr, and lately been reading up on email marketing, solo ads etc.

Sorry for the story above, just wanted to make things clear why I cant continue school (for now) or get a job to invest more into IM.

My plan:
So far, i have made a blog where i post guides and tips on internet marketing, 2 squeeze pages. One converted at 49% and other at 42% (tested with 2 solo ads only so far, each 100 clicks).

Now my questions is.. would 1000$ be enough to slowly start email marketing? I dont care about immediate profits, but long term profits (Don't know how my future realy looks like, since I barely have high school finished).

Also, currently once someone opts in on my squeeze page, they get redirected to this type of thank you page: http://i.imgur.com/BUN3rYn.png , which in 5 seconds redirects them to a clickbank offer. Would that be good, or should I make a simple thank you page, and not promote anything at start, only build trust with my list?

By my estimations, I can only get to a bit over 1000 email subscribers with my money... Would that be good enough to slowly grow my list, and buy more solo ads?

P.S.: I cant continue selling via fiverr, as they shut down my gig. I was selling social signals, and they said that this kind of gigs are not allowed... BUT they only took down my gig,all my 'competitors' are still up (people even selling direct facebook likes etc, and fiverr doesnt mind.. ofcourse they had to go after me ._.), and I had 300+ reviews on it, not a single negative one. Meh, sh*t happens i guess.

Anyhow, I would appreciate all the help I can get. I realy want to get some sort of a stable income online, as small as it is at start.

Thanks to anyone who answers, I really appreciate it,
Miqrofella

    Hey,

$1,000 is more than enough to build 50,000+ email subscribers. Your focus is to short sighted, which is understandable for someone new to email marketing.

The goal should be to create a funnel that makes more than you spend in traffic.

If for every $1 you spent, you made $2, how much money would you invest?

    As much as possible, right?

Your start up cash is a means of testing, and tweaking until you have a funnel that makes more than your ad spend cost.

Solo ads are generally around .40 per click. You just have to create a funnel in place that makes more than .40 per visitor.

If your squeeze page is around 50%, that means that each subscriber needs to make you at least .80 over time. Actually more than that, because of autoresponder costs. You really want each subscriber to make at least $1. That would cover your costs and enable you to keep growing.

Reinvest your profits into your list, and you could build something massive for free on autopilot.

    It's about 5 steps:
    • landing page
    • instant offer
    • autoresponder
    • traffic
    • monetization

Hope that helps a bit. If you have any questions, I'd love to help more if I can.

    Cheers!

May i know when was the last time you bought solo ads?
If you can get quality clicks for $0.40 i would be very surprised.

    Hey @Brendan Mace,

Thanks so much for your reply.

I actually read your post on Matthew Woodward's blog, and checked your 3 videos out on youtube, on email marketing. Got everything set up similar to how you have. Haha, never thought I'd get reply from you.

Anyhow, I am making auto reposnder that sends email every 3 days. Each email links to article I wrote - either tips, guides etc on earning online.

My plan is to not send any affiliate offers to my subscribers (other than the redirect I setup after email optin) for first 15 days, and then send 1 per week or 1 per 2 weeks. Ofcourse I will test to see which seems to work best (best open & click rates, unsubscribes etc).

Thanks so much, will check out your blog now aswell!

Your email plan sounds doable, keep going and maybe a blog too.

I wouldnt recommend solo ads, the lead quality isn't that great
because they get so many different emails for similar offers
it can be difficult to build out a responsive list (which is what counts)
try some ppc campaigns (recommend starting with bing)

$900 off a fully active gold member MOBE account (full price $2000)...message me if your interested

Here's an alternative plan if you want to SAVE MONEY.

Find niche blogs that have newsletters.

Hire a VA to find such blogs.

You'd be surprised at how cheap solo ad placements can be from such newsletters.

Since you're filtering by niche, the targeting is there as well.

It's all about getting high responsiveness and LOW PRICE from one campaign

It can be done but you need RESEARCH. Hire a VA to do it.

Building a list and becoming a solo ad is a great move if done correctly.
Try not to go for the cheap $0.25/$0.30 clicks as in experience never got good response from them even after they optin.

If you go with experience well known vendors they mostly offer great traffic and not only that many help you build a squeeze page guarantee you for 35% optin rates with 80% tier 1 and help you make them know you.

When i mean get them to know you meaning building a bridging page.

A bridge page can be a page after they optin with a video of your self thanking them and telling them more about your self.

This way the optin become more responsive in opening your emails as if they just get opted in without knowing you the chances are that many wont even bother opening the emails.

SQUEEZE PAGE -> BRIDGING PAGE -> OPTIN WITH RESPONSIVE LIST THAT KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

    Hi, I'm a newbie too.

I am currently getting coached and I was advised to do 2 traffic methods: One free and one paid. For the paid, I am using Solo Ads. I put aside $1000 for doing this. (I do have a blog and a Facebook page that we have not used yet. Just a landing page.)

What I was told was to find solo ad vendors on this one site.. My coach advised me to contact them and tell them "I am new to IM and that my coach advised me to buy 100 clicks at a price of 40 to 50 cents per click to start." (Note: They are very open to newbies and will work with you.)

I ran 4 campaigns that resulted with an average of 40% opt-in rate. I got my first sales. Now the opt-ins are going through the auto responder series. We are monitoring that.

All I know is that doing this stuff has me unafraid of paid traffic. Especially Solo Ads.

My coach's first goal was to get the first sale and we did that. Now we are looking to hit monetary goals and when we reach a certain level, to scale.

Just thought I'd share this with the intent to address the post.

I only recently began dabbling in solo ads. I am getting opt-ins, but whether they convert will be seen soon enough. I am using Udimi to get my solo ads.

    Hey,

First of all I wish you all the best with your sickness and I hope that you will overcome it!

Moving onto the topic, 42% and 49% are actually really good conversion rates! And with $1000 you can build a massive list of more than 1000 subscribers. I suggest that you try different solo ads just to test out which solo ad providers have the best and most responsive lists. Another idea is to invest in e-zines.

Now when it comes to sending people which have just opted-in to a Clickbank offer might be a good idea BUT only if the offer is cheap (like $3), because then you are building a so called "buyers list", which simply means that you are checking who is able to make payments online (because people are often looking for freebies and won't pay you a dollar). And if they can pay you $3 then they can also pay you $50. However building a buyers list may be much slower than building a normal list. So if you want to build a normal list, which would be done much faster, then after they opt-in, instead of sending them to a cheap offer, give them a freebie like a pdf or a video which gives value. In this way you are building trust in them, building your good relationship with them, and this in the future may lead to more sales. Hope this helps

If you have 1K to invest dont buy solos.
You are already doing some blogging which is much higher quality than solo.
Start posting some videos on youtube and get traffic from there.
If needed take some youtube training.
    You can also try ppc.
With 1K on solos you'll have around 1000-1300+ solo leads.
That list wont be that responsive cause solo leads get hundreds of mails every day.
ctrs are very low with solo lists.
Your best chance with solo is to have really converting funnel. And that is harder to do these days.
It will take A LOT of testing.
