Hi,

I bought an emailing list (50K emails) I am not sure about the quality and i fear there might be some spamtraps in it. I dont want to get delivery problems with my customers later on.

So i thought about various ways of not getting problems:
1 - Using another domain than my main domain to send the emails.
2 - Try and not write the name of my brand other than using images so that it cannot get scanned and linked to the spamtraps (not sure it works that way but once i did this kind of emailing using a similar list and everytime my brandname popped in a mail it was classified by some email providers as spam.)

What else can i do be sure not to get any troubles on my delivery rates ?

well... i am afraid that for that 50k emails... you might get alots of bounceback... so i suggest you do a test email to sent to the 50k emails... thru email autoresponders like GetResponce, Aweber..do some email sent out then you will see it on your own..

best way is to set up your own server and clean list...once you have clean list use autoresponder service to send out your emails.

Figure is awesome but you are right, you should link it to your website or brand try it on another thing. You can use mail chimp and send a random email to all these people you will get the detailed report from mail chimp which will help you to take final decision about your brand.

        Ok thank you guyz.

So basicaly what i do is that i send a first email and clean everything that bounces. Thanks to that i will keep a good reputation and good deliverability.

Obviously i dont use the same services/autoresponder to send my first "test email" and to send the second real one.

I still have the risk to send an email the second time to spamtraps adresses if the list was really unclean. So i should try and not put email linking to my website in the email. Or should i be ok ?

Use a serious autoresponder: Awaber or Getresponse are the best for avoid spam troubles!

Don t put to many images in your mails and don't use "spam word" in the object like " buy, click here, free homage", don t use to much colors and avoid block capitals.

Maybe you will receive a lot of bounces, but your list is huge anought to abtein good results!

    so.... good job!!

You bought 50k email, but are you sure all of them are valid emails? You should test email first to remove invalid emails.
The second factor that you should consider is that how many percents of your target customers in the list?

I suggest you to tranfer them to a landing page with your brand on it, but keep the email short and simple. I wouldn't put even my picture of my brand on the email, just plain text with a link at first.

Go with a third party service that offers mass unsolicited emailing.

Because if you don't, you face a lot of obstacles, many of which I'm sure you already know. Email service providers frown upon sending large quantities of unsolicited mail to people whom haven't subscribed to receive it. They don't want to put their own IP addresses in jeapordy.

Which brings us to another point: If YOU mail them yourself, you risk your ISP "blacklisting" your IP address (bye bye Internet) or you risk getting the IP address of your server (i.e. hosting account) blacklisted by the receivers' ISPs, and your audience will never, ever get your emails. And you could be listed as a spammer on a Federal level, which would cause even more problems.

So tread carefully and use a third party company if you truly want to be successful sending mass emailing without skinning your hide in the process!

Even if you verify your email list, it won't help you determine and get rid of spam traps because spam trap are always reported as valid emails. So, I'm afraid there is nothing to do rather than validating your list and start emailing to valid addresses on your own risk.

Use an email validation site. Most the time u need to pay for this but it could be a lot cheaper than messing up a few SMTP accounts. 50k though isn't all to many. PM me if u want more help cleaning ur list.

50k emails is not a big issue if you bought from genuine seller and ofcourse some of email marketing service can filter unvalid domains, no longer valid domains, unused email ids, bounced mail ids etc.. so if you try such a service you can send your inbox ratings without fear

I've been mailing and buying data for 15 years. Some of the responses are just wrong.

Get the list cleaned. This will help reduce the risk of complainers, spam traps, etc... However, nothing is 100%.

I would use one or a combination of the following.
