I am just getting started on the whole email marketing thing and have been reading all sorts of posts here. One piece of advice often given is to not "sell, sell, sell" to your list, but to build a relationship. I have been trying to put together from this ideas on how to do it, but had trouble finding a lot of clear ideas and methods, especially regarding the little things people do.
So, what is your approach to building a rapport? Do you simply put personality and wit in your sales emails, do put in personal non-sale messages in between the sale emails, or is it all about the timing and types of offers? What is it about your message plan that builds the relationship, do you think?
