Are you prepared for the email Apocalypse?

Boy you can sure tell I write a lot of sales copy, but this is a serious question. Countless people have been dumped by Awber and Getresponse and other autoresponders...I have been dumped by all of them, and every lead I generated was 100% legit. So I called a few of these companies and worked my way up the ladder.... Fact is... BIZOP and IM emailers HURT their business.

Now before you flame me...keep in mind... Bizop and IM is only BIG in our own mind. There are many many more businesses mailing way more then IMers in non IM markets...

SO what's your plan to survive. I have my advice... Get a private IP and mail responsibly and DO not use SWIPE...write your own copy.

Focus on engagement and don't mail people that don't open your emails. Why did Google make all their SEO changes...they wanted to make their users happy... So people that did not stay on your websites, or engage in a certain way or comment about your site on social media resulted in you getting black listed by google... DAH...

Gmail is the same folks. Engagement and email content are the two biggest factors. So sorry its not going to be as simple as copy and paste the same email as everyone else into your Aweber account and blast everyone on your list. And having 500K leads is not going to do you ANY GOOD unless unless they are active, engaged and not complaining.

Good luck folks!

I respect what you are saying and have to agree.

    But nothing new here, really.

Of course people in IM ( particularly affiliates) who just copy and past their gurus swipes for their Products are eventually going to lose out.

You get a very popular Product and get 100s off affiliates promoting it and all using the same Swipe...well somebody is going to get burnt as subscribers on Lists will start issuing 'complaints' left and right

Its just the gradual evolution of things that will occur with using this Method !!

But I must say it is good news for those of us who can use originality and creativeness in our Emails ..wiping out all this competition on a grand level

If this is true, then why would email companies have a special hate for "Bizop and IM"? If "we" are just a drop in the bucket, then why the "Apocalypse" for our industry?

I have a different theory. The percentage of scammers, fakers, crooks, and spammers is unusually high in the bizop and IM industry . . . and that (the spammers) is what these emailers don't like dealing with.

It's quite simple . . . I plan to provide unique, original, valuable and relevant content. I will never resort to scamming, faking, and spamming my lists.

Good advice. It's been working for me for the better part of fifteen years now.

I've never lost a minute of sleep worrying about what aweber, GetResponse or any other third party thought of my email practices.

There are plenty of services out there almost as good, if not as good or better, than Aweber and GetResponse.

I use 5 of them. Burned through about 4 Aweber accounts. THEY SUCK BY THE WAY.

Make sure you download all of your Aweber leads on a daily basis because if your account gets shut down, and it will without notice, they will not give you your leads no matter what you do to try to get them.

It's in their terms of service when you sign up.

I thought I learned the hard way with about 150K leads I had in there that cost me over $150K to acquire in less than 4 months and my account was shut down without notice - without compliance or customer service reaching out to me to warn me or offer me suggestions on how to limit whatever it was that caused the termination of the account.

Luckily, I totally forgot I did a complete account download of all leads a day or 2 before, so I ended up getting my leads I had spent close to $1 to acquire per lead.

Anyways, there is life after Aweber and GetResponse. I still like GetResponse. Aweber has great deliverability but not built for people adding 3-4K leads/day into any one single account.

Sad too because I had my original account in great standing from 2005 and another one from about 2009. Lost them all when I lost my cool after they had essentially told me and my $150K it cost me to acquire my leads to f*ck off - although I ended up having the leads anyway hahahaha

I'm also leaning towards getting self hosted mailer, but will exhaust all other options before I go that route entirely or at all.

    Good Luck!!

One of the reasons I bought arpReach was to solve this very problem.

arpReach is a self owned and hosted autoresponder / contact management tool that allows you to set up and use an unlimited number of third-party SMTP email service providers to send your emails out.

The benefit is that you store your contact records and forms etc on your server and then send out using other companies (or your own MTA for 'active' clients). If the third party company bans you or blocks you you just change to a different mail provider.

You never have to change your forms. You never lose your list and you can test multiple ESP's to see which of them does have the best deliverability rates for different types of emails.

My only goal was to bring this issue to light. Anyone running their own ESP will be happy...if you are a serious emailer you will need their own ESP...Anything over about 25K list member and you will run into problems eventually, if mailing IM and also using redundant copy.

I remember back when Google dumped everyone from Adwords and everyone was SHOCKED... well Google owns gmail....shared IP's will not be a reliable way to get email delivered and sending the same junk as everyone else...simply wont work any more. Use swipe...just modify it.

    Good luck!

I'm a serious mailer adding 8-10K+ leads a day, but do not use a self hosted mailer yet.

I just spread the risk out across multiple providers so I'm not scrambling if and/or when one of them decides to terminate my account.

Aweber though is the only one i've had an issue with.

I dont mail IM and I don't use swipe copy.

Deliverability is good. Although i can't say it's better or worse than self hosted bc I haven't used it in my companies.

Just rest assure there is life after Aweber and GetResponse.

Hey Jason...you say you " risk out across multiple providers"....does that mean you have the same list on multiple providers or you have different lists across multiple providers?

I don't add all of the leads I'm acquiring to just one account.

I spread it out across multiple providers and accounts.

        Hey Jason...that is interesting..

so when someone unsubscribes...do you manually unsubscribe them from the other lists?

also...how do you mail...maybe every monday from A every tuesday from option B..every wed...and so on?

this sounds kinda cool..plus it keeps a backup that is live at all times...

Well I defiantly want to join this post and say the AWeber gave me the 2nd warning out of 3. So I have to move to other ESP - I prepared two options: 1. IContact - if they will not close my account in the minute leads start to arrive. 2. RoboMail with VPS's tunnels that I install but most of the email arrive to the spam because the IP's are still cold tho.
I hope that my AWaber will not shut me down so quickly.
