Conversion rate for PDF report VS audio / video

I have a book written, and now I'm looking to create the proper funnel to sell it.

I have also created a free guide / PDF, to hopefully convince them to subscribe to my list. Not a long one (8K words), but I think it went out good.

My first question is: How well does a pdf report still work to get opt-ins, in comparison with audio or video?

It seems I am forced to go with pdf format for everything, but I'm still concerned about opt-in rates.

Reason: I have several difficult problems with creating audio version. My voice is by far not perfect, and also I have a permanent allergy/blocked nose problem, so recordings are never great and I need days of work to get them cleaned, then I'm still unhappy about the result.

I have also tried using professional voice but I'm not really happy about that either, it adds a different layer of problems. Like confusing users by using different voices, sometimes your regular voice-over isn't available, and it's not your voice (they expect it to be) and so on.

Second question: What do you think about adding a second, synthetic voice version together with the pdf report? That's easy to create -- but far from natural. Still robotic, although they've improved significantly though.

I'm considering adding a digital voice version, as it doesn't cost me anything and perhaps someone will use it instead of reading. I don't know how my readers will take this though, even though it's a free addition. Side note, my money product is an ebook.

Please enlighten me. Thank you very much!

if I want a synthetic voice...I would just hook the pdf up to it myself...if you give me an audio and it is a synthetic voice...I will feel cheated...

Understood, and thanks. Got the same answer from another source right now.

What about the first question? Anything about that?

in my opinion... not much difference.. it depends on your content...

your opt-in rates depends on your landing page/squeezepage content... you can try out the opt-in rates with pdf and without pdf

i wont suggest you to do that... because your pdf file size will be very big... and you might have some codec issue

Now this is really good advice, at least for me in the current stage. And it helps me to bring a lot of clarity in my current decision process.

I write very fast, and I'm rather good at it. But the value is always in the message, in the information that I am conveying. So the format might not be that important, if at all. I have lots of ideas (they are always coming), and enough experience in different fields. So there's a lot of "raw material" for content creation.

This is the same advice received on another forum. "Stick to just one version of media, keep it simple." Therefore I'm going to follow this advice, stick to writing, and books. Although books tend to have less perceived value than audiobooks and courses, I can compensate that through sheer volume, and it will allow me to sell high-value additional services as well (e.g. coaching), and extra products at some point.

I have one book already written, and a couple others not far from completion. Going to translate my first book in more languages, it is already in final version stage in 2 languages. Then, in the future I will look into creating additional media versions for my best selling products. Makes much more sense in this way.

I'm also connecting the dots further: Generating traffic is one of my other skills (having many years in PPC for example). Email marketing is a rather new field for me, but I've spent enough time doing training, so I know I can handle it. If I'm going combine traffic generation with writing free but good reports, with email marketing and a series of affiliate offers down the line in my autoresponder sequence, this could turn fast into multiple streams of income. Because creating reports is going to be fairly easy for me, and I plan to offer value in each of these free products, coming from experience. Therefore I'll be able make money even in the other niches I follow, where I don't have my own product yet.

pdf...audio...video...if it is good and related to what I want...i'll get it...

I think in general, in my niche, folks place a higher premium on audio and video than pdf alone...but if the vocal sounded annoying...i am sure they would want the pdf...

in the final analysis...go with what you got...it will work...
