Now with the many options for email marketing, I'm a little confused. Can someone clarify which is the best way to go about email marketing?
#mailchimp #mailpoet #sendgrid #sendy

Always give away something of value for free to your potential subscribers. Research your niche and find out the pain points of your audience. Give them a cure for the pain and you are as good as gold.

Mail chimp is good, but I always choose self hosted solutions over using someone else's service. I'd run with Mail Poet and if you have a lot of sending to do and your host limits your daily outgoing, then send grid is good for connecting to Mail Poet. They give you 12K free a month.

Seems SendGrid doesnot have autoresponder. I am not so sure about using MailPoet, where as Mailchimp has great autoresponder, which comes at price.
Yes, Sendy can be a great alternative among all these.

I started with Mailchimp and then later on shifted to Sendy when, I had crossed 5000 email subscribers.

    Hi,

No matter what provider you choose, there is one primary difference.

They are either HOSTED email service provider

    Or

They are SMTP relay provider , means you have to host software yourself.

A hosted provider manages database and provides email marketing APP. They usually charge more for doing that.

SMTP relay provider on other hand give you SMTP server login information and let you host your app yourself with your own hosting company.

You have to plug in their SMTP info inside your email service.

With this primary difference in mind , you can now judge that

Mailchimpand chimp is hosted service, means all in one package

Sendy and MailPeot are email apps, but they want you to use third party SMTP

Sendgrid, Mandrill and Amazon SES are SMTP relay provider

you can plugin SendGrid, Mandrill or SES inside mailpoet or Sendy and live an independent life without any monthly commitment

OR you can pay a monthly fee to Mailchimp and let them do everything for you...

    Choice is yours

I hope concept is clear now

Go for mailchimp but it is not IM friendly. There are fair chances you will end up getting banned if you send promotional emails.
