Best Way To Reach Out to Potential New Clients

I've had an idea of offering my services to people who are not so technically savvy, helping them through Skype, google hangouts or something like that.

I've compiled of list of 29 email addresses from various health practitioner sites, which is a niche I like.

I am putting together a newsletter in mailchimp. Concerned as there are some statements that seem to make me think that I cannot simply email people on this list.

I get unsolicited emails all the time. Can I get in trouble if I just send to this list?
What is the best way to reach new potential customers?

29 email addresses doesnt look good, too little, not to mention that you have no idea how many in this 29 email addresses are active?.

yep, that brings in the question where how you get the emails addresses from? do they sent to your website so that you collect their information? do they aware that you have their email addresses?

hard to say for that... some of them might unsubscribe from your email list

What is the best way to reach new potential customers?
is there anything you try to promote? how does it work? if you have a landing page, then i would suggest you to get paid traffic (solo ads) to get new potential customers fast

      technical services:
help people with their website - convert it to responsive if not already
convert email accounts from xyz@gmail.com to abc@[theirdomainname]
help with general technical issues - uploading photos, cropping, etc
basics of social media - FB, youtube, twitter, ...

I think most may be active. I recently got a list of 500 hypnotherapists. I don't know how many are active. I imagine a good amount would be.

Just promoting technical services right now. I promote it by directly talking to people either at events or when I meet someone, at a store, farmer's market, or wherever I am.

Use a squeeze page and always give away something of value to get them on your list. Research your niche to find the pain points of your potential customers and give them something that will solve their problem. Research is extremely improtant and makes it easy to get new signups.

You can email them. See below:

This is the rules from the FCC. There is nothing which prohibits you from emailing people without consent. You can also try contacting them on their website contact forms first. But be sure to follow these rules:

Don’t use false or misleading header information. Your “From,” “To,” “Reply-To,” and routing information – including the originating domain name and email address – must be accurate and identify the person or business who initiated the message.
Don’t use deceptive subject lines. The subject line must accurately reflect the content of the message.
Identify the message as an ad. The law gives you a lot of leeway in how to do this, but you must disclose clearly and conspicuously that your message is an advertisement.
Tell recipients where you’re located. Your message must include your valid physical postal address. This can be your current street address, a post office box you’ve registered with the U.S. Postal Service, or a private mailbox you’ve registered with a commercial mail receiving agency established under Postal Service regulations.
Tell recipients how to opt out of receiving future email from you. Your message must include a clear and conspicuous explanation of how the recipient can opt out of getting email from you in the future. Craft the notice in a way that’s easy for an ordinary person to recognize, read, and understand. Creative use of type size, color, and location can improve clarity. Give a return email address or another easy Internet-based way to allow people to communicate their choice to you. You may create a menu to allow a recipient to opt out of certain types of messages, but you must include the option to stop all commercial messages from you. Make sure your spam filter doesn’t block these opt-out requests.
Honor opt-out requests promptly. Any opt-out mechanism you offer must be able to process opt-out requests for at least 30 days after you send your message. You must honor a recipient’s opt-out request within 10 business days. You can’t charge a fee, require the recipient to give you any personally identifying information beyond an email address, or make the recipient take any step other than sending a reply email or visiting a single page on an Internet website as a condition for honoring an opt-out request. Once people have told you they don’t want to receive more messages from you, you can’t sell or transfer their email addresses, even in the form of a mailing list. The only exception is that you may transfer the addresses to a company you’ve hired to help you comply with the CAN-SPAM Act.
Monitor what others are doing on your behalf. The law makes clear that even if you hire another company to handle your email marketing, you can’t contract away your legal responsibility to comply with the law. Both the company whose product is promoted in the message and the company that actually sends the message may be held legally responsible.

Very interesting. The way I see it, since I can legally contact them, I've got one shot to make a good first impression.

I imagine there will be 3 camps:

    some may say yes
some that think, not right now, but, I would like if this guy contacts me again
some who think 'no, and don't contact me again'

I am excited, and want to do a genuine, friendly message... I even made a video for this alleged first email for people to click if they'd like to see more in video.

Working on my site, working on a new logo, and trying to make it more attractive.

I mean, I think I have a good angle, offering technical services, reasonably, online, to not-so-technical people. I also mentioned in an above reply that I was able to obtain a list of 500 names and emails, and I think I can get some more if I wanted to, just trying to set up what would be the best thing right out of the starting gate.

Also, GetResponse looks interesting. I think I'll check them out further.

Isn't there a 'how to best reach, via cold contact, customers for the first time' video??

Well, I did it. I sent an email to about 300 people, with a link to a video explaining my services.

No replies, aside from an autoresponder. I read it's good to follow up, to have a 2 or 3 email approach. Just straight up marketing? Trial and error?

I've been picturing that I would work with them through skype - has anyone tried and had success with that model?

Also, I also thought I saw another post or 2 here. Do posts get deleted? I don't it see them anymore.
