Hey All,

I'm trying to buy email list of all the beauty salons in the US and wondering the best (accurate + low cost) way of going about it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Harry

You will need to get a permission to email them. If not, they will consider you as a spammer and will report you.

      Think about this.

      If you owned a beauty salon . . .

Would you want your business email sold to some random Internet marketer who was going to send you offers that may or most likely would not be targeted to your own interests? And you never gave your permission to anyone to sell your contact information in the first place?

As others have said, build your own list of targeted prospects who want to hear from you. What you're proposing is not how profitable business is conducted online. Protect your reputation in this business.

NEVER EVER BUY LEADS... You need permission to email. If you ignore advice and email anyway. This is spamming and you're emails will not make it to peoples inbox's.

Couple of reasons you don't want to do this:

    • Most email marketing firms won't help you send emails to lists you've bought

    • High-quality email lists generally aren't for sale. If the list is good, why would anyone share it for a measly upfront payment?

    • The people on the list won't know you. The relationship is key. If they don't know you, they won't resond to you.

    • You'll open yourself up to honey pots and spam traps. You might find yourself branded a spammer by anti-spam organizations.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

There is a way to legitimately email business addresses.

      It's not by buying lists.

It's by renting legitimate lists from brokers like InfoUSA. You rent the split you want, up to and including salon owners in the US. You furnish your email copy. The broker emails for you.

You still have to overcome the problem of being a complete stranger in their inbox, so it isn't a slam dunk. But, done right, there is nothing illegal or even unethical about it.

I find it ironic that marketers who have no problem recommending solo ads have such a tough time with this concept.

Hmm, look for them and contact them personally as an conversation, if you spam them or promote to them daily with an autoresponder the results will be weaker.

You could get a list from data brokers. However, if you want the entire US, it will probably be a bit expensive.

I suggest you check out the offline marketing section here. You'll find most people use a scraper to target businesses. Which if your mailing B2C offers to them, you would surely have problems. However, I'm guessing that what you are doing is B2B and as long as your offer is targeted, you probably won't have any problems.

    Worth a look.

There are a lot of methods gaining you the email lists (search them, there're many courses about it) but do not ever buy a list from someone.
Assume that you receive an email from a stranger with advertising content, would you be happily reading or throw it right into the spam folder?

Buying lists is never a good idea. They are almost always filled with invalid or non-existent email addresses that are targeted by ISP's as spam traps (honey pots), which means if you send emails to those addresses you can be black listed.

One of the obvious downsides to a bought list is that it isn't targeted at all, which means the people on it have probably never heard about you or your company, in which case they will likely report you for spamming.

Original, opt-in email lists are truly valuable and you often hear people say that the money is in the list and it's true. Rather take the time to build up your list from scratch with people who are interested in your company and what you have to offer.

Either way, aren't you sending your message to someone who never asked for it?

That was my point, not the payment mechanism.

Yea, but I think people feel more comfortable knowing that their at least going to get clicks with the solo ads, along with the fact that the cost is probably going to be lower doing solo ads as well.

Probably true, but totally irrelevant in this context.

The only real difference I see between buying solo ads and renting a list is the guaranteed clicks. Both are sending unsolicited messages to people who did not specifically opt in for them.

Yet some of the same people who rail against using a publicly available business email address to send a message (aka 'renting a legit list') are fine with sending the same kind of message to lists often gathered by dubious means.

What I'm getting from you is that the ethics don't matter as long as the seller guarantees results, and will keep sending the unrequested messages until you get the promised clicks.

            Solo ads aren't unsolicited.

Solo ads are no different than someone that has a list and sends it's subscribers a message with an affiliate offer in it.

Do you consider affiliate offers in a message unsolicited?

I just don't understand why people have to take these shortcuts of buying the leads. As many have said here already. Buying a list will only get you into trouble.

And I can definitely agree on that from trial and error I did when I was new to the whole internet marketing thing.

Do you actually know anyone who had success buying their leads?

    Hey All!

I want to share what I've done so far. I found that the price of list vary quite a bit, so wanted to do a small test w/ a low priced list source. I bought a small list from Fiverr and sent out 500 emails (in the last 2 days). I have a 20% open rate, which I feel super excited about, BUT only a 1% click rate.

Is this typical? What are some of the things I should be looking at to tweek to boost this paltry 1% click rate? You guys have been great! And I'll post an update soon!

    Thanks again!

You don't have much benefit thing if you buy email that not potentially give impact to your business, people will ignore it, just create subscriber in your blog and let user input their mail when he visit your sites. Then collect them as potentially mail. Of course, It's need a times.

      I do if they:

      > come from someone other than the person whose list I actually opted in for, and

      > send offers for something beyond the scope of the list that was promised when I signed up for it.

If I was dumb enough to sign up for a list that said, "sign up, and I'll bombard you with ads from anybody who can pay for them, and I'll keep doing it until enough of you click on their links", I'd be fine with them.

Again, it has nothing to do with the message being an affiliate offer. It has to do with being sent messages that meet the two criteria above.

Waste of your time and money. Spend a few months building your own list the right way. Many methods to get you building 2000-3000 subs every month for free.

So add to this the money you would have spent buying a list who don't know you...you should be able to add at least 3000 a month through a funnel that introduces you and gets their trust and interest from day 1.

    Simple! Don't.

If the people on the list didn't agree to receive mail from you, then you're spamming. If you're spamming, you risk getting shut down by your autoresponder.

It's not worth your time and money, and it can really mess up your marketing efforts.

Hello..You can go about buying email lists in the following ways:

    1)Use a Social Lead Extractor:
An email grabber/spider or social lead extractor enables the extraction of email ids from all social websites like linkedin, facebook, twitter etc for which you have to just enter keywords specific to your niche.

    2)Purchase email lists:
This is very easy but expensive and not as effective as the remaining because there is no assurance that the emails in the lists are valid or no.

Heads up, everyone: the thread was bumped by a new member with just 1 post, who just happened to know a resource from where people could buy leads. But wait, there's more: the website he or she linked to is actually a squeeze page that doesn't say a word about buying leads.

Why should someone sell an email list? If the quality of these emails is good the person could use his list to market some kind of product of just use affiliate programs. In most cases the lists you can buy are scraped by automated systems and no one can guarantie if they are even real.

I would be very careful with list building gigs on fiverr, because I have only made bad experiences with traffic, backlink and list offers.
