Segmenting in your Niche

From your 1st email list you create for a niche should you be creating and sending them squeeze pages to split them into a different facets of your niche. Is that how you segment into multiple lists by sending sq. pg's to your own personal list?

Should you always segment your list into different parts of your niche in order to give content to that topic and to promote and make sales from that aspect of your niche.

Should you give an introductory email to the new facet of the niche?

Really asking if that's how it's done or if there is a better way.

You usually segment your list after a purchase. So if you are promoting "wallys super muscle formula" and of the 500 people that opened your email and clicked on the link, 100 bought. Now those 100 people will be segmented onto your buyers list and will receive different promotions.

Your introductory email in this case could be a quick thanks for purchasing the product and then send them different emails than the rest of your list. You don't need to announce it to them in this case.

    Hope that helps!

      Thank you,

May I have some more feedback from warriors. I would like to get as many opinions as possible.

Segment your list into prospects and buyers. When a buyer buys your product put an optin form on your thank you page requiring their email to deliver the product. This is how you build a buyers list.

I'm segmenting less and less these days.

I've been around the block with regards to email marketing, it really depends on how you communicate with your leads, your business plan, and how advanced you want to be.

There's a million ways to slice the cake. I used to have dozens upon dozens of lists. That gets really old quick.

For me? I prefer simplicity and try to devise a mechanism upon which I can send broadcasts in a way that makes sense and is effective.

I really just have two lists now; leads and buyers, and I'm thinking that I might reduce that even further (lol).

So... I aim for "simplicity" and "agility" these days, just my $.02.
