What are they doing that we are not

I get at least 4 e-mails a week from various people trying to sell my there e-mail marketing system and of course always show me how much money they make. Most of them are showing an account they claim is for a new business they started only 3 months ago and already has 60 thousands e-mail subscribers in there e-mail system.

However most often on this site I read how most people only have a few thousand subscribers and have been working at it for years. So my question is what are these guys doing that I and all the other people aren't doing. Are they buying tons of adds for cheep?

It is hard to say. There are so many ways to generate a list and different people have different talents. Some have a great understanding on how solo ads work and can find great solo ad providers. and once you have a decent list of solo providers then building your list gets really easy.

Then, there a some that have a good handle on social media and can set up FB groups and Fan pages as well as obtaining loads of pinterest and or twitter followers that can be tapped into anytime.

You have people that are really good at creating inexpensive WSO's that they can post and generate loads of signups as well as having affiliates promoting to their list. And, this is a buyers list.

There are many more ways to generate these lists, too many to mention here

Lying. Or they are building their lists through a lot of paid advertisements.

Either way, it does not matter.

50 true fans who enjoy your content, purchase your products and actually care about you and your business is worth more than 60,000 cold subscribers who joined for nothing more than a giveaway.

Please don't misunderstand me, a list of 60k is not unbelievable; however, it would take years of providing immense value to develop that kind of community.

For the most part, I don't run ads or use squeeze pages. I buy fresh/targeted data, I generate real-time co-reg and I also work with some other data, but it's a bit more advanced for this post.

This is what I have been doing for 15 years and while the data quality isn't the same, it's 1000 times faster and I simply compensate with volume.

While there are always going to be those that will tell you to never buy data, I fully believe this is due to the fact that they either read this and now preach it, as if it is the truth or they tried it and didn't know what they were doing or how to properly monetize it.

This isn't for everyone and by no means is it as simple as just buying data and sending it. However, done right it can potentially be very profitable. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, does 6-7 figures. While that's a huge range, a lot comes down to having the ability to scale and then being able to effectively manage the infrastructure that comes with scaling.

    Anyway, something to think about.

Diablo, how is what you are doing different than the volume spammers that we all hate but can never get rid of without deleting email addresses or similar means?

I don't ask this to start something with you - to each his own - but I've been curious since I started reading your posts.

All the data that I acquire, the users have agreed to receive messages from 3rd parties and all unsubscribe requests are honored.

With co-reg, all users are specifically requesting more information for the offer I'm advertising, essentially they are opting-in to receive.

They might have built a new list of 60k within just 3 months, but what they won't tell you is that they had a leverage source behind that that will only come after you've built up your business over time (usually a few years at least).

For example, they might have traffic already coming in from a blog network they've built up...

...or videos they've uploaded to youtube, etc.

It may be a paid traffic source from campaigns that they've built up and tweaked. In my experience, creating these types of profitable PPC, PPV campaigns takes a long time and a good amount of experience.

It is not a quick learning curve.

Sure, 3 months to create a 60k list is not impossible for newbies, but it is definitely the exception rather than the rule.

Photoshop. It's so darn easy. I don't know the people you're talking about, but this combination of incredible results in a short time, wild income claims and "I'm giving all this away to you for just $47" makes me cringe.

Very successful people rarely, if ever, give away their secrets. And when they do, trust me, they won't do it for peanuts.
