Start out by getting a good autoresponder service, this is very important. I use Aweber myself, but there are other services out there you can use.

Then you need an offer of some sort that you can put on a squeeze page. Most people write up a free report or offer something for free to get people to opt in.

Last you need to start driving traffic to the squeeze page. Now, many people start out with solo ads, and you can find a lot of threads in WF about that....this is a easy way to start generating targeted traffic....but alongside of that you should learn how to generate traffic from other sources as well.

Then it's all about building a relationship with your list, give them free valuable information and once in a while recommend a product or service that you are an affiliate for.

This is VERY basic, but get started with the basics and then search in here and elsewhere about more advanced stuff. Good Luck!

Personalize email whenever possible Your website visitors, email, and mobile subscribers, and those who have connected with you on social media will appreciate your messages even more if they’re personalized. Inject personalized recommendations into marketing emails for the ultimate in one-to-one communications. For example, you can create a unique email containing personalized recommendations based on each subscriber’s browsing behavior on your website. Adding personalized recommendations into marketing emails can increase sales conversion rates by 15-25%, and click-through rates by 25-35%.

Simply having a list does not automatically guarantee sales. There’s only money to be made from a list if you know how to monetize the list once you have it. This is what most people get it wrong. They focus all their efforts, money and energy on building huuuuge email lists, and almost no effort on how how to monetize it. Your first priority needs to be on HOW to make money from your leads, work on this before you start to build your list. Good Luck!

Email marketing has been around since quite a while now, and also email marketing is one of the most cost-effective method. So, it is good idea to adopt email marketing for your business. Running an email marketing campaign is easy to start, however performing the correct ones, is crucial for experiencing excellent results.
You can adopt "Behavioral email marketing" campaign in that, you can track your customer’s website behavior and offer relevant content to them. That will encourage them to engage with your brand.

  • Firstly get a basic autoresponder like Aweber, GetResponse, Mailchimp, etc

Then, start learning the process of generating leads and following up with them.

You can do this by either doing it yourself and testing, or you can buy a product which shows you this

To build, execute, and maintain effective email marketing campaigns, you must pay close attention to your audience, the message, and avoid the common trap of simply blasting out self-promotional messages. This only leads to recipients hitting the delete button more than opening your message.

Keep doing what you've started, besides you'll learn along the way.
What you need now is determination, plan/s and goals.
Execute it and experiment on your strategies.
Learning email marketing will most likely to come from own/personal experience. I know you've heard something about building a list, or probably made a research about it, so whatever strategy you think will help you achieve that list make sure to keep track of it. This will also help you to determine if the strategy you are doing will help or not.

    Essentially:

Sign up for email list service such as aweber, mailchimp, icontact, constant contact, etc. choose one you feel has the features you need and you're comfortable using. (I currently use mailchimp.)

Think of something of value you can offer to entice people to sign up to your list. Remember, even though it's free, you're still selling it because they're exchanging heir time and inbox space for your free offering. Make it worth it for them.

Create the "thing of value" you will offer. It could be a report, Ebook, mini course, psd file, wordpress template, free app, software, etc.

Set up an auto responder or mini course series so that the process is automated. When they sign up, your system should send them through the process automatically so it requires no involvement from you and you can scale this system up to as many email subscribers as you want.

Create the landing page. Yes, this is the first thing they will see but we save it for last. It's easy to make the landing page first but if you don't know what you're offering first how do you know what to put on the landing page? This is the reason why some email marketers do not have effective landing pages and very little or no signups. Know what you're offering then make your landing page.

Send traffic to your landing page. Easier said than done. Ways you can do this: a blog post, guest blogging, content marketing, creating a video on YouTube, social media such as instagram, ppc on Google or Facebook, giving away a free report or book with a url linked to your landing page, etc.

Track conversions and tweak. Are you getting sign ups? Is your offer good enough? One of my campaigns was getting about 17% conversion from visitors to subscribes. I tweaked it a bit to make the offer less complicated and saw conversions increase.

Split test. Replicate the process you did above but slightly tweak your offer, landing page, etc. Try a different headline, different content, etc. See what generates the best conversions. Why split test a free offer page? Remember, you're paying for traffic. PPC costs money, and anything organic related or free content related costs time. Make sure your landing page converts.

Hope this helps you get started.

I typed this on my iPad so pls don't mind typos... Lol.

Well the first question I have for you is this:

Do you have an email list of subscribers?

If not, learning email marketing without a list is a waste of time.

Build the list first, hell build the list while learning email marketing.

    Hello...
Once you take a step towards learning about email marketing there is no looking back because the scope to make a rewarding profit for your business is way too high. That being said,I think for starters you should just try to understand the basics of email marketing by reading various posts, news letters and other mediums to understand the keywords.
The most important thing then if you have your product ready is to create an email list consisting of all the email ids of people who can derive value from your product. This can be done by making a squeeze page or using an email spider which scrapes em,ail ids from various social sites pertaining to the niche that you want.
Next, you will have to buy an autoresponder or an email sending software wherein you can create a very attractive email campaign describing your product and provide all necessary links to your potential clients.
Finally when you have your list and campaign ready all you have to do is send your email campaign and make way for a growing business.
    Good luck!

I just sent you a PM with a free copy of my eBook on the subject.

But, what Luna said above is truly key.

The secret to having an email list that other marketers dream of is to provide value.

Einstein said: "Try not to be a man of success, but rather try to be a man of value".

      Think of it this way.

      Who's list do you stay on and buy from;

      1. The guy that promotes some new make a million in a day offer every single day in your inbox with no other emails other than that?

      2. The guy who emails great tips and blog posts teaching you every day. Then when he finds something he knows you can use to build your business he tells you about it?

Obviously #2. Because he has made himself valuable to you. He's earned your trust and is not treating you like an ATM.

      Have a great day, Patrick

Providing value is what makes people want to keep reading your emails and you need to keep doing this to keep them interested and on board.

So when it comes to selling time, you don’t want to just suddenly change tact and hit them with the hard sell. Instead, you need to gently introduce them to your products and you need to get them interested in buying. All the while, you’ll still be providing value via your emails.

This is where ‘AIDA’ comes in. AIDA is an acronym that stands for:
    · Awareness
    · Interest
    · Desire
    · Action

Were you to create a ‘sales page’ to sell a product, you would attempt to fit all of these stages into your persuasive writing. For an email list though, you have the space and flexibility to handle each step in a different email.

So you’ve been sending lots of emails, providing great value and building your relationship with your readers.

Now you want them to be AWARE of an exciting new product coming up, so the next step is to mention casually at the end of your message, that you’ve got something new and exciting in the works that you’ll talk about more in future. This won’t put any one off or have them clamouring for the unsubscribe button, but it will warm them up to the next stage.

Next comes interest. In this email the ratio of value to marketing will move a little further towards the marketing, so you’ll give yourself a bit more space to talk about what this new product does and why people should care. Keep things a little vague but at the same time, make sure they get enough information to be interested and to look forward to the next message.

Then comes desire. This is where you start going in for the slightly harder sale – and focussing on your value proposition. A value proposition basically means that you’re going to focus on how your product will make life better and how it really provides value. You don’t sell hats – you sell warm heads. What does your product do that will get people to really want it and to imagine themselves owning it?

This is the great part because they still can’t buy the product at this point but they really want it. The -time between your ‘desire’ and ‘action’ emails will work to increase anticipation and gradually ramp up the excitement. Then, when the action email comes through providing a quick and easy way to buy the product, you’ll see a rush of people who want to buy the product.

    That’s the idea anyway…

That's great that you're ready to start rocking it out with email marketing! When emailing out to your list, just remember these simple things….

The subject lines only job is to get the email opened…period.

The body of the email is to get the reader to do whichever action you want them to (for example to click on a link or go to a video or whatever) And on a side note, you may want to train your list to click so that when you promote an offer to them, they are already conditioned to click on the link you send them.

So when you send out a content email, don't give all the content away. Simply tease the content to make the reader want more. They then have to click on the link provided (to a blog, video or whatever) to get the rest of it.

I hope that helps and good luck!

It is obvious, but first you have to have something to offer. But I think the first step to make a list of email contacts, you have to make a website, where you talk a bit about you and what you propose to sell. without a great product to sell you never are able to build a mailing list. So my advice is do a website, or with wordpress or blogger.com, maybe even helped with google trends, to get a broader overview. after which through the site, socialnetwork ,you start making your mailing list.

In my opinion, for a good start, you need to hunt down your customer's email addresses and then get their permission for sending them marketing letters! It can be very easy to do in that case, if they are interested in your products or services and it would be useful for them to receive some fresh news about it! To find out which email marketing strategy would be right for you, it is better to talk to some professional!

I want to say that there are many levels of email marketing! And to choosing the right method must be based on the results you want to achieve!
I hope that these tips will help you and good luck!

If you desire to produce your email contact directory for all email marketing campaigns, you must carry on to grow the list. You will absolutely drop viewer’s members on a normal basis so you must increase them as well. Make use of social media & homepages to contain a simple signup form. You can also add short information that can confine their notice and give them a good cause to subscribe. Though, you need to keep the forms as easy & simple as possible so that they do not drop the inspiration to sign up.

    Congratulations on making the plunge!

I'm not certain where you are in the process, but let me just add that a successful marketing campaign requires a lot of planning before you even select an autoresponder.

I personally use GetResponse (I've been with them for about 13 years now) and I think they're the best and most professional. (But there are several great options just as good).

The MOST important thing is to make absolutely certain that you're sending GREAT e-mails.

People get SO MUCH mail, you have to really work to stand out.

It often goes back to basics. If you have not heard of him, I would check out the Gary Halbert letter. He was a master at his craft.

GetResponse has a FANTASTIC list building "University" course and they also have a landing page creator that gives you an integrated solution. Plus they have 24/7 tech support via live chat which I find invaluable for those 2:00 am sessions.

    Hope this is helpful.

    Pat
