Starting a targeted email subscriber list
Hi all, new to the forum and new to email marketing. I've run a fairly successful Web site for 12 years now. But I want to expand my business from direct consumers to include business to business.
My thoughts are to reach a target market my Web site hasn't reached yet. To deal directly with interior designers and landscapers. The way to do this I think is to start a monthly or biweekly newsletter to that market. I need to build the subscriber list though and this market isn't traffic I get to my site.
I've begun to familiarize myself with can spam laws. My question though is would I be violating these laws if I collected business emails to send out an initial introduction email that offers them an opt in for my newsletter? It would be a one time email giving them incentive to sign up.
