Hello,
Spam assassin is scoring me 2.6 for RDNS_DYNAMIC (Delivered to internal network by host with)

G-Lock Apps Delivery Monitor Test Shared Results

Deliverability is a challenge currently, so if you have any advice on how I can address these results please share. Thank you.

Spam assassin doesn't like the host name that aweber is using for rDNS of your sending IP and they think that it is possibly dynamic, rather than static.

Basically they think that the IP address that you are sending with may be an IP address from an ISP your using.

    204.194.223.154 is your sending IP

    rDNS returns: 154.223.194.204.in-addr.arpa. PTR 600 smtp-soi-g19-154.aweber.com.

This part is the host name: smtp-soi-g19-154

So something about the way the host name is named: smtp-soi-g19-154 is flagging that it may be dynamic and not static.

There is nothing that you can do about this other than contact aweber and let them know about it.

I find it interesting that they are using rules that give 1.5 points because the links in your message are aweber.com

So basically your 4.1 score is all aweber related.

I also see you junking microsoft domains: hotmail, etc... I'm having good luck inboxing them with icontact.

Was hotmail, etc... always a problem or did it happen after sending for a while?

Do you know what the breakdown of the domains in your list? I usually see that gmail/yahoo make up about 80%, then aol/hotmail is like 10% and everything else is the remaining 10%. So while our saying you are having deliverability challenges based on the seeds you are using, you really want to know the make up of your list, as you may be do better than your overall seed stats.

DIABL0, Thank you for your response.

Some of what you were saying is reconfirming what I had a suspicion of. I have now written to Aweber and I'll update the thread with their response.

Good to know you are doing well with iContact. Don't want to make a rash decision and start flicking around to different auto responder providers, but I will definitely bare them in mind for the future. Aweber make out that as they have been around a long time they are the best, but I wonder whether over this time some senders have dragged down their rep with email service providers.

Yes, hotmail is the biggest mail provider marking my mails as spam. My presumption is that gmail, hotmail, yahoo are the main three.

I have only recently realised that deliverability was a challenge so not sure if Hotmail has always considered my mails spam or whether this is something new.

Also, just to point out that the links in the mail are the Unsubscribed and Manage Subscription links. These obviously cannot be controlled by myself.

My list is only small c800 and I'll do some analysis to work out the make up of different domains and will post back on this thread.

As an update here is the response from Aweber. Essentially they have a team working on deliverability but have not given a direct indication whether this issue can be fixed.

Thanks for the additional information. I don't see any content-related issues with the message that you sent to test, so there isn't anything that I can see from my end that can be edited about this specific message that would aid in the deliverability. You may want to try different From Addresses (possibly look into trying something from Gmail as a variable) to see if the test appears any differently. Our deliverability team works on issues with blacklists on a consistent basis, so this information that you've been able to provide is greatly appreciated.
