How to leverage subscribers to get more leads ?

Hello,

I would like to know if there is a common strategy to use existing subscribers on your list to bring more people to your page and to reward them for that. Instead of paying X$ for a lead, you end-up paying X$ for a lead + 5 potential leads for example.
Say in the 3rd or 4th e-mail, you tell your subscribers : if you recommend my page to 5 people, I will give you a second e-book for free.
Are some of you doing that ? If yes, how do you track who brings you who in order to give them their little gift ? Are there other techniques to leverage your subscribers to grow your list without paying for additional traffic ?

Thank you for your answers

There are many ways to use existing subscribers to generate more leads. You just have to get creative.
One of the most basic ways to utilize your existing subscribers is to do an ad swap with another email marketer with the same amount of subscribers.

This is a great way to grow your list for free.

Another option is to tell your existing subscribers you are doing a giveaway/contest.
This works best for social media, but you can utilize it with your list also.

First create a new landing page just for your giveaway. Say something like "enter your email below to register for the contest.

Then instruct your followers that to be consider for the contest you must share the page, and enter your email.

This will spread like wild fire if done right.

Also that was just a general overview. Make sure it doesn't look spammy, and put some more thought into it.

I hope the message got across, and helps you out in some way. Take care buddy!

What I do is I constantly share blog posts that have call to actions to my list. I also share videos. Then the people in my list usually share my content on social media. Next thing you know, because of emailing my list, I'm getting traffic from their sites.

My best tip...just keep delivering value. When people see and feel that what you're sharing is something of value, they wouldn't hesitate sharing your content on their social media profiles. Another effect of this is because they share your content, you're getting high quality backlinks for your content which then will help boost your ranking in Google.

It's a simple strategy that once implemented consistently can work wonders.

    Story-telling

From my experience the response rate works best base on a ratio of 3 parts of giving to every 1 part of asking.

Selling in every email only irk your subscribers and make them want to unsubscribe from you. Give not just by delivering value but inject personal touch to your email content, show real life photos and tell stories. Story telling has proved to be effective because they cause the readers to be emotionally invested.

Subscribers are your customers in the email marketing platform. They don't just buy and share your products, they also buy your stories - the art of your selling. When you get them hooked on the customer experience process, that's the time your content is worth sharing to them.

    Gamification

You may also want to up your gamification marketing technique. Telling them upfront about what they will be getting for free on condition they do blah blah is too tactical.

I suggest you try coming up with interactive quizes or embed a photo revolving around your brand where they can just regram or retweet and tag their friends in order for that friend to partake in the game to win a certain giveaway that you're hosting, say, 2 names per entry or something along those lines. That way you get not just that one more person's attention but that of your subscriber's followers as well, spreading that campaign across different platforms too.

I have done a blog on this you may want to read more:

Sometimes it's just as easy as having a call to action "Please Share With Your Friends".
If you are delivering value through and email, you might want to direct your subscribers to a Facebook Link or Page or Tab and ask your subscribers to share. You can also embed an opt in link to your Facebook link, with a lead magnet (ebook, video etc) related to the topic you are sharing.

One strategy a lot of marketers are using now is to post and share viral videos to generate leads.
