Database?

I am not exactly sure where to post this question.

I have a blog, and am developing a 5-day e-course to gain subscribers. The problem is- it is a Google Blogger blog; I am absolutely sick of having to make significant edits to the code every time I want to do something simple, like create a landing page, change background color, or post more than 2 images and not have the coding go all screwy because of it.I am not much of a coder, so this is very time consuming.

So, the obvious answer is WordPress. Wordpress.com wants $99 before I get access to the source code- to add meta tags and whatnot (unless I am missing something); I am not paying anywhere near that. Wordpress.org claims an 'easy, 5-minute install', but requires I create a database from my web-server; something I not only have no clue how to do, and everyone I can find wants me to pay for their service.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

    Ugh.. this is by no means easy. It would be easy if you already knew what you are doing. I taught myself HTML- that was easy; 5- minute install from hell. Google Blogger was easy. WordPress only makes it easy if you pay them.

    So frustrating.

    You need to switch to WordPress.org and purchase hosting, learn WordPress and then you can add all your content, data base is already setup for you, when you install WordPress.

    Real Blogs, are built with WP.

    WordPress has a learning curve, even if everyone says it's easy, watch videos for hrs and hrs.
    Then everything else will fall in place.

      Thank you; I am glad I switched. I haven't even seen everything I can do yet, still haven't figured out how to code the template, but am glad- WordPress offers so many tools. Especially Yoast SEO- it is incredible.
