List building questions

I am studying up on building lists. If I build a list do I have to have a website or can I give them the goodies in a newsletter only? If I did have a site and a list what information would I put in the newsletter Vs. what goes on the website?

Thanks
Scott

Best way to build a profitable list is creating a freebie, or just look up some plr books and offer them that on a squeeze page, you will need a domain+hosting for this.
Buy SoloAds (best way to build a list, easy and fast, but it costs money) and drive the traffic to your squeeze page.
After that, you have subscribers and it's really up to you.
    Good Luck,
    Leonardo.

PLR stands for Private Label Rights - It is something that you buy once and are allowed to sell to others under your own name. If you want a book or some kind of freebie to giveaway to your email list subscribers, then you need to buy PLR ebooks that specifically allow "giveaway rights".

    Hi wolfe655,
you could have a website that tells people your story, with some information about your product or service.

Your list could be generated by a popup offering a newsletter subscription.

You could set up the list as a paid newsletter or magazine subscription and have more detailed information there.

You could add a membership consisting of video training that you could sell in your free newsletter.

Hard to tell without more specifics, but consider that offering your content in different forms can have various perceived value.

I treat one of my lists as a free training series that covers the general topics in some kind of order. I then offer my own products along the way that give much more detail about each topic so users can pick and choose what they need.

Some are paid, while some are free.

If you are in a local niche then you have a good chance of getting some free traffic, but getting a site in the search engines can be almost impossible, so paid traffic or lots of hard work in social networks and forums for instance will be required.

    Hope some of this helps.

    cheers, Mal.

      You could have either or.

I would say if you want to just start list with no site go for it. Then when you get a little cash then go full on with a decent looking site with a some sort of blog with a little eye candy on it.

With a website you have the ability to add Video's, more pictures, and even make a membership site. It just looks a little more professional than just an email. Not saying your emails can't look professional..... But I think you get what I mean...

Yes, you do not have to have a Website. But if you want to maximize your efforts it sure does not hurt

If anything you can take your Newsletter follow Ups and maybe edit them a little and dump them in your Blog.

Most ideal approach to manufacture a gainful rundown is making a freebie, or simply turn upward some plr books and offer them that on a press page, you will require a domain+hosting for this.

Purchase SoloAds (most ideal approach to assemble a rundown, simple and quick, however it costs cash) and drive the activity to your press page.

After that, you have supporters and it's truly up to you.

You could offer a list of resources you use as an opt-in offer - LeadPages and CopyHackers do that and have said they experienced much higher opt-in rates.
