Any good idea to grow Email list for photographer?

I would like to start using more of this way to grow my clients list and have a long lasting connection with them.
Any awesome ideas to grow my Email list? I'm trying to find different and creative ways to get people to sign in and not all the usual stuff everyone is doing.

Hit me with creative ideas please.
Thanks!

I feel like I might have some decent ideas for you but I need your help to answer the question.

I'm not a photographer so I'm not quite sure what the usual stuff is that photographers do to grow their client lists.

Could you please elaborate on what this usual stuff is that you photographers do so that the ideas I try to come up with aren't things you are already doing?

      Thanks for commenting.
The usual stuff are like any other business trying to get leads such as:
      - Direct traffic to website
      - Facebook
      - Giveaway on website, such as posing guide or a a-z list guide for a wedding.

That's it generally, I wanted to hear some out of the box ideas that someone used to gather leads, what I need to have on my list is not only engaged couples but also just random couples who might eventually get married in the future.

Have you tried safeswaps? Google it, there are some good starting points for you there. The only down point is that you will have to pay for premium membership to access the goodies.

How can I find swaps in my country? I don't need global swaps or US, just in my country.

There are many ways to grow your email list. I would like to discuss a few ideas that may benefit you. Before starting my comment i will give an example by proverb. That is given below:

we konw that "practice makes a man perfect" but its not like that "perfect practice makes a man perfect".
It all starts with the type of audience you want to target. Are you targeting people in your local area or wide range of audiences from different locations? Once you have a clear idea about the audience you want to target, find where they are going. Are they active Facebook or Twitter users? Are they frequently searching for wedding photographers on Google?so,we need to think positively.

If you have a clear understanding about this, the next step is to get your word in front of them. There are different strategies such as publishing valuable blog posts with SEO benefits in your website, guest posting on other relevant websites, offering contests, giveaways, or discounts via social media or your blog, connecting with your existing customers either by email, social media or any other methods you prefer and get references from them by offering some kind of discounts in return, posting relevant posts such as updates of your successful projects, case studies etc. on social media sites etc.

    Thanks

    Hi Grubner 1
Thanks for post a nice topic.
Fine..have seen the discussion of All friends. As per your requirments you expect some special leads for your business. In that case you may search on Google for Safe Swaps. Please sign up there & take neccessary support from there. I think you will get your expected Service. On Other hand alternately you may try as..site: photographer. usa(or any country). linkedin.com(or other sites)/pub/"@gmail.com" OR "@yahoo.com" OR "@hotmail.com" OR "@ymail.com" OR "@msn.com" OR "@aol.com" OR "@mail.com" OR "@mac.com". In this case you must use a best Autoresponder software like mail chip or Get responde or Benchmarks. I use Get responde. I feel better to use this software. Howover I'd like to your desired success.
    Best of luck.....

You know, I tried getting into photography as a hobby, one thing I wish I would have found more help with is DSLR settings, which is best for the type of photo's I want to take. I would make a guide on that explaining what ISO is, and some tips etc etc.. Or make a video on that they receive after an optin.

Good idea, although there is plenty of information about this topic including youtube videos, you just have to look for it.
I'm not aiming to reach photographers, I'm looking to shoot weddings, therefore I need couples which are already engaged or will be in the future.
