I am using Amazon SES and Sendy to send emails to our participants in a fitness class.

Amazon shows no bounces and no delivery issues but some customers are claiming they are not getting the emails. Many of which are Comcast customers. I need to get this resolved ASAP as these women are getting upset they are not getting their daily updates. I am not sure where to start to resolve this or who I should hire to tech help.

Any advice?

Have you had delivery issues in the past or is this a new issue?

Are these new customers that are having issues....or was everything working, then all of a sudden stopped?

Try sending an email to yourself and a couple other Gmails or Yahoos you may own to double check and test your deliverability.

I hate to say something simple like this but.......did these customers check there spam folders...Have them check the Junk folders and do a search for your emails.

Yes and no. We are switching from a former system on our old website but it was sometimes hit or miss. Everyone claims they are not in their spam folders. I checked with comcast it we are not on any blocked list but without a bounce I am not sure how to check the ip of your sending server. I assume it is Amazon. We had the same issue trying to send bulk emails right from our godaddy secureserver.net email. I think at this point I just need a service that can check all our set ups to see what is going on but not sure who to contact. Should I try Sendy, Amazon or an independent to just solve this? These are small lists max 50 women.

It does seem like comcast.net addresses are the big problem though.

Quick update. All of our sending email addresses are verified on Amazon SES but the domain is not because I do not have the ability to make cname changes until I bring this domain back to my direct control. We have a new website and will redirect the old domain to the new one. But our email addresses are still name@olddomain.com. Would not having the domain dkim's not set up do this?

Keep in mind Amazon and Sendy are showing 100% delivered and 0 bounces.

How big is your mailing list?

My honest advice for you would be to signup to mailchimp.

Export your email list and import it into mailchimp, and then use them until you can get whats going on with your current situation figured out.

Mailchimp is free up to 2000 subscribers, and if you have more, its still pretty cheap.

I use mailchimp and have around 3k subscribers. But theses are not tech savvy personal trainers doing the emails and I was trying to avoid them trying to set up campaigns in mailchimp. Each personal trainer sends out an email for their class every day

Well if its a problem with just "Comcast" addresses, you will probably end up spending hours trying to find a solution only to come up dead.

Seems like others are having the similar problems.

    http://www.warriorforum.com/programm...omcast-ip.html

As painful as it may be to try and explain to a personal trainer how to use mailchimp...if you created a video and sent it out to them with step by step instructions, I'm sure they could figure it out, I mean its not to hard. But before you even go to the trouble of doing that, make sure you send a test email from mailchimp to a "Comcast" email in question to make sure it even goes through.

    Or your second option is..........

Tell the personal trainers to tell there Customers to stop using Comcast email addresses and to use a Gmail one.

I know both of those solutions may not be what you want to do...but if its has something to do with "Comcast"s email addresses...then you're kinda screwed.

If you Google "comcast email address not receving emails"

You get a ton of results of people not receiving the emails they should be. So it might just be "Comcast" sucks at running an email service.

The plot thickens. So I set up a comcast address and sent to myself. Did not receive and anything and nothing in spam folder. With Comcast tech support the claim they are not bouncing or not blocking any of my emails. They say it must be our sender.

Amazon ses has no support unless you pay their $40 per month service. I don't have a problem paying that but rather not if this is going to be a dead end. How is it possible they (Amazon) are not delivering the emails and why are they showing 100% delivery and 0 bounces. Beyond frustrated.

First thing...Never believe what tech support says. They generally don't know what they are talking about. Especially tech support for a major cable company. Its literally just a bunch of people that went through a couple weeks of training, if that, and follow a script to answer your questions.

I don't think it has anything at all to do with Amazon ses, I think it has to do with Comcast.

Do a google search man, you will find tons of complaints of Comcast customers not receiving emails. You are not alone.

The only thing you can do at this point is try mailing to your Comcast email with a different mailer and seeing if that works OR tell your Comcast customers to switch to Gmail.

They go through when I send individually from outlook. I use send grid in outlook. I might try using sendgrid instead of ses in my sendy app and see what happens.

I have done my research. I am well aware of issues with Comcast. But I need to deal with facts not hunches to solve this . Just telling my customers that have paid thousands to change their email just is not an option. My next step is to put a tech request to Amazon. Right now I can replicate the no delivery. I just need to pin down who is screwing this up. Comcast or amazon

Well I would suggest trying mailchimp and getresponse, since those would be free to try. Try and send an email to your Comcast address see if it goes through. If it does, they you can at least narrow down that changing senders does have an affect on deliverability.

If the email still doesn't go through even after using a different mailer, then it could be your domain being blocked my Comcast. So the next thing to do would be try mailing your Comcast address from a different domain using Amazon, Mailchimp or getresponse. If it goes through, they you can narrow down that it Does have something to do with your domain name.

If the email still doesn't go through....well then I'm not sure what to say, you're going to need to maybe hire someone to try and fix the problem (and they might not even be able to).

The last resort in my opinion would be creating a personalized Gmail email for each client, then - Email them the new email address via a Gmail account. And then let them know that they can access there daily updates via this new email account you created specially for them. And that this email will be used solely for the purpose of the updates and keeping in contact.

Hope you get it sorted out!

    Hi mich800,
as soon as you said Godaddy I raised my eyebrows.

I have just been reading up about some problems that Clickmagick had with creating redirect domains for custom domain links.

There issues were not resolved, and Godaddy would not even answer their emails, so I am just suggesting it could even be your host, not your mailing solution.

Now this was only with a specific domain redirect, but something worth thinking about.

    cheers, Mal.

Here is an update for those that want to know. The short answer is Comcast sucks.

I finally got an answer and to me this is a BIG problem with Comcast. I have comcast so I have been testing on myself. I checked all my comcast email settings on their webmail. Spam filtering turned off and no other filters set up to make sure I get anything and everything. So after 2 support tickets and getting nowhere I finally get a comcast tech telling me I need to turn off my spam filter. I let him know it is not activated and all check boxes are off. His answer...yes it is active and it is active by default apparently even if my webmail console tells me otherwise. He turned it off and bingo, emails are delivered. This is crap policy and right now see no good way around this other then personally tell every comcast customer to call and have the filter turned off.

So no bounces on the comcast feedback loop and every email shows as delivered. Because technically it is. And customers are getting their emails blocked even if they think they set up everything correctly.
