    Newsletters do deliver some kind of regular trust-building emails, while email marketing does not have to.

    When people refer to newsletters, they refer to emails containing, well, news. It has little to do with marketing. For example, schools have newsletters informing parents about new school policies, acquisitions, etc.

    Email marketing is sending emails with the main purpose of making money. It doesn't have to sell in every email, but the overall idea of it is to increase profits.
