I know, I know...

It depends on the niche, audience, demographic, etc. etc...

But in terms of having a successful list... How many emails per week or month is too many?

And how many is too few...

I get email's probably every other day from some IMer's until I finally start unsubscribing.

I'm currently redoing my list and I'm planning on 2-4 auto premade emails a month and then 1 - 2 website updates, or free offers...

I would only send 1, possibly 2 product pitches a month depending...

What do you think?

Do you have a magic number that has worked for you?

Thanks!

More than once a day, on average, would be too much.

Less than twice a week would be too few.

twice a week.. is okay.. thrice a week.. is a little north to okay.. but should not be more than that.. you want ppl to come to your website.. not run away from it as soon as they see your logo..

Nothing wrong with once a day, some people are just anal and will unsubscribe, ignore those that do. Generally when I look at unsub reports it's the people that never spent a dollar with us in the first place... A good balanced number is 3-4 times per week, but whatvever ya do, it should be done constantly from day 1 so they get into the pattern from seeing emails from you. If you don't email them for a long time and than start hitting them, more likely they'll unsub..
