How does email marketing work for the long run?

What is the right length to set up autoresponder for? I heard that you can set up from 1 month or to as long as 1 year. Is it necessary to set up the autoresponder as long as 1 year?

What do you do when the autoresponder is finished? How do you keep in contact with your subscribers for the long run? Do you just keep on sending broadcast emails? And should that be as often as once every 2 days?

But the problem with sending newsletters is that it's only sent to current subscribers. The people who subscribe later will miss out on the content.

Not sure the reason that you send out email, but I think you can definitely set up a series of autoresponder as long as 1 month or longer, just also consider for subscribers who sign up later maybe the information would be outdated.

And email them every 2 days would be great, just make sure the reason why you want to send those emails to them. Some people would send emails in an every 7 days manners or send 2 times a day because of different purpose.

My purpose for sending emails would be for promoting affiliate offers. I would send out valuable content for 3 or 4 times, and then send a promoting email. And then repeat that process.

For this purpose, how often I send out email would be appropriate? How long should the autoresponder be?

You should have a plan for your business,
for example if you work in health and fitness category, you have to provide them valuable content such as Free video, Free PDF, Free podcasts or etc and send it to your subscribers between 3 or 4 days. For instance today you send them a free valuable video, 3 days later send them another free video, again 3 or 4 days later send them another free video in your niche and finally 3 or 4 days later send them your offer in your niche. it must be relevant to your content which you provided. this process can take between 12 to 14 days totally and after that you can repeat this process with new and fresh content. Good Luck.

I think a list is a life time investment. You will always have your list even after your autoresponder messages after finished. After that you will be sending broadcasts where necessary...

Well just send specific useful info from Google to your subscribers and they should be happy.

  • Hi,

I think it should be done by segmentation. Let's say, you are already done sending your autoresponder, the next thing you might want to consider is learn more about the activities of your list, then segment.

This way, you can plot and still find a way to turn the tables and eventually convert from the links found in your email. I once read a thread here saying that he has a subscriber who has finally bought something after 2 years of being a part of the list. Seems like a long wait but still, you can make the most out of your list even for a long time.

If you want continues content, you can also send an RSS to email type of email campaign, wherein for every new post that you have in your site, this automatically sends emails to your list. But of course this is if you have helpful topics, etc.

    Goodluck!
